Last time on Colony, Nolan (Adrian Pasdar) finally betrayed Maddie (Amanda Righetti), first by sending her son away (supposedly for safety), and then allowing the authority to take her away (right after sex). Katie and Broussard (Sarah Wayne Callies, Tory Kittles) meet with Karen (Laura Innes) who refused to give up the gauntlet, so they attacked the Red Hand and stole it themselves. Snyder (Peter Jacobson) got dirt on Nolan about the downloaded file and he is dragged away next. Helena (Ally Walker) received a disturbing call – total rendition.

Last week on Colony, Will (Josh Holloway) and his suspicious partner Bob (Toby Huss) ferreted out a suicide bomber cell, but got no info from the girl, no thanks to Bob’s torture methods and Will’s softness. The file-stealing-accusing train traveled from Nolan to Maddie to Katie (Adrian Pasdar, Amanda Righetti, Sarah Wayne Callies), and everyone denied it. Katie had taken the file to Broussard (Tory Kittles) to decode it. Broussard not only found out when Bram (Alex Neustaedter) was being released, he also found out that there was a countdown clock until when everyone would be gone. Maya became a suicide bomber on the shipment transport, while everyone watched it explode with fear and awe.

Last time on Colony, Will, Devon, and Charlie (Josh Holloway, Carolyn Michelle Smith, Jacob Buster) took a “coyote” to get over the wall back into the LA bloc. It was really scary, but Charlie was a champ. Unfortunately, a drone noticed them and reduced Devon and the 2 strangers to blood spatter. After studying Will for a bit, it went away. Jennifer (Kathleen Rose Perkins) put more pressure on Katie (Sarah Wayne Callies) to give up Broussard (Tory Kittles), but Katie genuinely had no way of getting him. She apologized to her sister and prepared to send Gracie (Isabella Crovetti) there, and give herself up. She waited for Homeland to knock on the door, but when the knock did come, it was Charlie and Will.

Last time on Colony, we got a glimpse of life before the occupation… right before the occupation. Will and Katie Bowman (Josh Holloway, Sarah Wayne Callies) had a normal family – cute little kids, angsty teenage son, spouses in it together. Will worked for FBI and Katie owned a bar – the Yonk. On that day, all electronics died, key military were extinguished (except Broussard – Tory Kittles – who were extra savvy), and a wall came crashing down, penning them in. The Bowmans lost their son, Charlie (Jacob Buster), which is where we met them at the beginning of season 1.

Last season on Colony, we met the Beaumans. Will (Josh Holloway) was former FBI recruited by the new government for his skills, and agreeed to get his missing son back. Katie (Sarah Wayne Callies) was recruited by Broussard (Tory Kittles) to join the Resistance and spy on her husband. As you can imagine, that did not work out too well, or stay secret for more than 2 seconds. Both sides did questionable things – betrayal, murder, theft, chaos – just a perfect little family. Everything was out in the open at the end as Will and Katie took a stand on opposite sides, and Katie ended up alone.
Spoilers ahead.

Last week on Colony, we saw Will and Katie Bowman (Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies) working on opposite sides – Will as a Collaborator, and Katie as part of the Resistance. Will gained a new partner in the form of Beau (Carl Weathers). They have to find the man responsible for the blast. Meanwhile, his friend was grabbed and brought to the factory, where a weird shining light washed over him and the other detainees. I’m still not sure what happened. Will and Katie managed to whisk his wife and son to safety. Katie starts readying her old bar to open.

Last week USA’s Colony premiered. Set in a dystopian aftermath of an occupation by aliens (We think?), Will Sullivan (Josh Holloway) and his family are trying to get by sans one member. Their middle boy, Charlie was taken to the other side of the wall during the occupation, and Will is sneaking in freezers to get him back. He got caught and surprisingly offered a job, his real name discovered (Bowman). They want him to collaborate, or his entire family will be taken. In a world of rations and barbed wire, is this the only way to survive? Unbeknownst to him, his wife Katie (Sarah Wayne Callies) is part of the Resistance he has to help take down.

It begins with a seemingly happy family scene, complete with husband, wife, son, daughter, dog… but you soon sense the trepidation behind it. A glance at a photo shows someone is missing. Then you see the barbed wire. Will Bowman (Josh Holloway) is driving the only vehicle besides the authority. Everyone else is riding bikes. He gets inspected, but is let through.
Then it gets really weird. He gets in a freezer with someone, is covered in ice, then watches something on a monitor. It’s soon clear it blocks out infrared. Then… an explosion. At this point I’m very confused, and not a little excited. I miss not knowing what the hell is going on.
And that is how Colony begins. Spoilers below.
