| Universal Schedules ‘Jurassic Park 4’ To Hit Theaters June 2014
We can finally put any and all Jurassic Park 4 speculation to rest as Universal Pictures has officially announced that the project has been greenlit and will be released on June 13, 2014. Of course with the 3D hype still going strong, the film will also be released in 3D. THR’s Borys Kit was one of the first to break the news. He adds that Steven Spielberg is attached to produce and that the search for a director is now on. Jurassic Park 4 will be based on a script, written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), that was turned in this week. While the impression that the Robopocalypse delay may hint at Spielberg returning to his beloved franchise, there is nothing to confirm that he is coming back. There is also no mention of a shortlist of directors, but the report does confirm that the search will commence next week.

In fact, it’s limited run may be the only time you will get to see these dinosaurs on the big screen.

| Geek Peek: Concept Art For The ‘Jurassic Park 4’ That Will Never Be
Sometime in the near (or far) future, we will be getting a Jurassic Park 4. Universal Pictures is very interested in continuing the very successful franchise with another film. But after the third installment didn’t live up to its predecessors, making a fourth seemed a bit questionable. Now leaked concept art might reveal why it may be taking so long for Jurassic Park 4 to come out. Check out the concept art here below. The concept art (via Reddit) is quite interesting, revealing a dinosaur human hybrid. These genetically altered beings would have the capabilities of wielding firearms. Gives a whole new meaning to that infamous Jurassic Park quote “Clever girl.” While Universal continues to figure out how to bring Jurassic Park 4 to the big screen, these pieces of art by Carlos Huante reveal some very cool concepts, but one that probably wouldn’t work in a theatrical format.
