| First Look: Johnny Depp Is Whitey Bulger In ‘Black Mass’
Warner Bros. has revealed our first look at Johnny Depp as Whitey Bulger in director Scott Cooper‘s Black Mass. Bulger is the notorious South Boston gangster who spent 16 years at large until he was found hiding in Santa Monica, CA in 2011. He was then convicted of 31 of 32 counts of racketeering, money laundering, extortion, and weapons charges, including his complicity in 19 murders. Jack Nicholson’s character Frank Costello in Martin Scorsese’s The Departed is loosely based on Bulger’s criminal career. Cooper’s new film will bring the life and crimes of Bulger to the big screen, while also covering his being an FBI informant tasked with providing intel to bring down the Italian Mafia. As you can see, based on the header photo, Depp is playing someone who is the polar opposite of Captain Jack Sparrow or one of those Tim Burton characters. Hit the jump for more.

Sorry, but yeah, it’s true. Michael Ealy‘s portrayal of Theo reached epic proportions last week when his identity was discovered after murdering his wife’s best friend and framing her husband. His response was to “deal” with the situation and that included murdering his wife and leaving his kids to die. Kids saved, Theo put Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) on notice – come after him, and his loved ones will be next…”piece by piece.”

FOX
Air Date: Monday, April 13th, 2015, 9:00pm Before we get to the review of The Following 3.8 “Flesh & Blood,” here’s a quick recap of last week. We got a clear vision of Theo, the psychotic “best student” of Arthur Strauss. Having murdered the good doctor, Theo (Michael Ealy) demonstrated his skills as a cyber serial killer by sitting right out in the open in front Max Hardy’s investigation, killing and framing everyone in his path. Max (Jessica Stroup) barely avoided joining his kill-list. The Following 3.8 “Flesh & Blood” review: We begin Episode 8 with chief suspect Tucker Moore being ceremoniously dispatched by Theo… in a kitchen meat grinder! What complicates Theo is that he appears to be the perfect family man. Sure his wife suspects him of cheating, but not mass murder. Few characters I can think of on television have ever had the drastic duality of Theo. One minute he’s throwing his wife a surprise party, the next murdering her best friend and husband. See… I told you he wasn’t cheating on her!

Air Date: Monday, April 6th, 2015, 9:00pm Try not to fall too in love with any villains on this season of The Following. After Arthur Strauss (Gregg Henry) appeared to arise the new Bid Bad, he was unceremoniously killed off by his “best student” Theo (Michael Eale). Now with Mark Gray (Sam Underwood) on the run, and Daisy (Ruth Kearney) disappeared, we are left with Strauss’s two remaining proteges, Theo and Duncan (Tim Guinee). Of course we still have Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) awaiting the death penalty. Hopefully there’s an escape in our future.

The Following
Season 3 Episode 6: “Reunion”

FOX
Air Date: Monday, March 30th, 2015, 9:00pm 5 words. “What took you so long?” I know Joe, trust me I feel your pain. While no one can say this season of The Following has been boring, it has lacked a certain something thus far. A show never short on evil doers, Season 3 has lacked the “Big Bad.” Mark Gray (Sam Underwood) is totally bonkers having amassed the personality of his dead twin, and Arthur Strauss (Gregg Henry) is a tad blah as the show’s new villainous puppeteer. Thankfully, all the pressure has gotten to Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) and he’s returned to seek advice from the man he said he’d never see again… Joe Carroll (the awesome James Purefoy). Their talk comes with conditions: Ryan needs something to catch Strauss. Joe wants what he always wants: More Ryan Hardy. “Tell me something Ryan; in your dreams, am I in them?” Oh, I’m so happy he’s back!
