Back in March we saw a teaser trailer for Leprechaun Returns, the eighth entry in the horror franchise.

Now a full trailer for Leprechaun Returns has arrived. The movie is actually a direct sequel to the 1993 original a la the recent Halloween. This includes bringing back Mark Holton (Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, Teen Wolf), who starred in the original alongside Jennifer Aniston.

For St. Patrick’s Day this past weekend the first teaser was released for Leprechaun Returns, the latest in the long-running Leprechaun horror movie series.

The new movie is set 25 years after the 1993 original, and follows a sorority accidentally bringing the leprechaun back while trying to build a new house. The movie is directed by Astron-6 member Steven Kostanski (The Void, ABCs of Death 2) and written by Suzanne Keilly (Ash vs Evil Dead, Dallas & Robo).

In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, the fine folks over at Screen Junkies have made a very easy decision in what to take on for this week’s edition of their Honest Trailers series: the Leprechaun franchise.

The movies starred Willow, Star Wars, and Harry Potter star Warwick Davis as a murderous leprechaun named Lubdan who’s desperately searching for his precious gold. Davis has played the character in all of the seven movies made in the franchise with the exception of one, the recent reboot Leprechaun: Origins, which starred the WWE’s Hornswaggle in the title role.

In what could be the greatest news of all time, World Wrestling Entertainment‘s film department WWE Films and Lionsgate are pairing to bring a new take on the cult classic horror film Leprechaun.

Now, there currently aren’t a lot of details about the rebirth of this movie as of yet, but there are a few things to note that I’ve gathered from various WWE news sources and as a watcher of their films. First, don’t get me wrong, when I say that I watch WWE movies, I want you to take into consideration that I love watching horrible movies, and with the exception of Asylum, WWE pretty much has the terrible movie genre on lockdown. However, it seems that WWE has realized this fact and has attempted to change a few things recently when they’ve made statement regarding where the film department is going in the future.

Kevin David Anderson, author of Night Of The Living Trekkies, sent us a fun greeting for St. Patrick’s Day which mashes up the evil Leprechaun from the Leprechaun horror movies, with Star Trek‘s beloved Captain James T. Kirk in “Leprekhhhaaaaaan!!!”

If you don’t get this reference, I implore you to immediately watch one of the greatest movies ever, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
