Fro Design Co's Let's Kill Hilter Banner

We’ve spotlighted Fro Design Co‘s art on the site before, but as fan of art prints and Doctor Who, I couldn’t pass the opportunity to talk about this new piece.

In celebration of the show’s return, Fro Design has released a new print focused on the episode “Let’s Kill Hilter.” Dark and TARDIS blue, the image captures the time image in a menacing silhouette of the Nazi villain. Titled “I Think I’ll Kill The Fuhrer,” the print measures 11×17 and is $30.

On sale now, there will only be 50 of these produced, so snag one while they’re hot. We’ve included am image of the full print below (click the thumbnail) — what do you think about the design of it? Will you be picking one up?

Doctor Who: Let's Kill Hitler

Doctor Who returned last week for the second half of its Series Six run and after the break we’ve got a review of the highly anticipated “Let’s Kill Hitler.”

Doctor Who
Series 6, Episode Eight – Let’s Kill Hitler
Directed by Richard Senior
Written by Steven Moffat
Starring Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, Alex Kingston, Nina Toussaint-White, Caitlin Blackwood, Maya Glace-Green, Ezekiel Wigglesworth, Philip Rham, Richard Dillane, Amy Cudden, Davood Ghadami, Ella Kenion, and Albert Welling
BBC America
Air date: August 27, 2011

“Let’s Kill Hitler” makes my brain hurt.

Mind you, it’s a good hurt, but much of the discussion on this episode will have to fall under our spoilers section due to the massive amount of plot that occurs in this episode. Yet, there’s still plenty of non-spoiler stuff to talk about for those that have yet to watch it.

Doctor Who

Doctor Who is back, and the Time Lord (Matt Smith) returns to Earth following an unconventional summons from companions Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) to find out his progress in locating their daughter. However, the reunion soon goes awry, as their childhood friend Mels (Nina Toussaint-White) hijacks the heroes and the TARDIS by gunpoint.

What follows is an unusual adventure that takes them to Nazi Germany in 1938, sets them face-to-face with Adolf Hitler (Albert Welling) and reunites them with River Song (Alex Kingston)

During TARDISblend 35, we review the events of Let’s Kill Hitler, and also look at Amy’s and Rory’s childhood relationship with the “new” character of Mels, and how it developed as they grew to adulthood. We discuss Hitler’s brief cameo and writer Steven Moffat‘s allusions and metaphors used in this episode about the character as well.

Doctor Who

While Torchwood: Miracle Day gives Whovians a breath of fresh air during the break from Doctor Who Series 6, BBC America is already gearing up for the return of Matt Smith‘s Eleventh Doctor with several Doctor Whotelevision shows to air during August.

It was announced during San Diego Comic-Con last month that the second half of Series 6 will resume on Saturday, August 27, 2011. In the lead-up to the return of this season, BBC America has scheduled three specials. The network has also released a short sneak peak teaser of the specials, in which guests discuss their favorite aspects of the long-running series. Doctor Who

There’s only a few weeks left before Doctor Who returns to TV, and both BBC and BBC America are ramping up promotion in the lead up to the relaunch of Series 6. The BBC has released another new trailer, a follow-up to the first teaser previewed at SDCC. You can view the new trailer at the bottom of this post.

While it’s a short teaser, it does give fans a glimpse of a lot of new footage – though not too much to spoil any surprises along the way. There are a few more people wearing an eye patch, which adds to the mystery of new villain Madame Kovarian (Frances Barber).

We also get a few glimpses of companions Amy Pond (Karen Gillan), Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill), and River Song (Alex Kingston); and of course the Doctor himself, Matt Smith.

Also, a new promotional poster has been floating around the web lately, in the run-up to the return of the show. The design is fantastic, so I figured I would also include it in this post in its full-size glory.
