Walt Disney Pictures has announced that principle production has begun on Cinderella, a live-action feature take on the classic fairy tale story being directed by Kenneth Branagh (Thor, Jack Ryan). Disney previously turned the fairy tale in a beloved animated feature back in 1950.

In celebration of the start of filming, a first image has been released showing star Lily James (Downton Abbey, Wrath of the Titans) as the titular character. You can check out the first image and read a description below.

Walt Disney has announced that Richard Madden, one of the stars of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, has been cast in their upcoming live-action take on the Cinderella fairy tale.

Madden, who plays the son of Eddard Stark and the boy who would become King in the North on the show, Robb Stark, is fittingly set to play the prince in this new Cinderella tale. We recently just found out that Downton Abbey star Lily James had been cast as the mistreated Disney princess.
