‘Dundee’ Trailers We Wanted To Be Real Are Tourism Ads, Because Of Course They Are
|

We pretty much knew that the trailers for the Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home “movie” (here here, and here) were fake and actually ads for Australian tourism. And yet, we wanted to believe that somehow it would become a real film. And can you blame us? I mean, Danny McBride playing the estranged American son of the Australian legend, Crocodile Dundee. And in the trailers that have been released so far, we’ve seen Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Isla Fisher, Ruby Rose, Luke Hemsworth,, and more trick us in to believing that this was a real movie… or at least get us to want to visit Australia.
But now, comes the terribly sad news: There is no Dundee movie. But if you are thinking about going to Australia any time soon, well, then this ad might be just the thing to get you to buy a plane ticket. Check out the latest ad here below, which aired during last night’s Super Bowl.

‘Dundee’ Trailer: Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Isla Fisher, Ruby Rose, and More Join Ad Campaign

For the past two weeks, the Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home trailers have only featured Danny McBride, Chris Hemsworth, and Hugh Jackman. McBride, who plays the title character, is the “estranged son” of the legendary Crocodile Dundee, although he lacks the spirit of the Outback, as seen in his broken Australian accent and inability to remove the water buffalo with his “Outback Powers.” Last week, Jackman “joined” the cast of this otherwise fake film that appears to be nothing more than a Super Bowl ad to promote Australian tourism.
Now a full-length trailer has appeared, showing more from the fake movie. And as you might have expected, it features an all-star Australian cast including Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Isla Fisher, Ruby Rose, Luke Hemsworth, and more. Check out the trailer below.

Blu-ray Review: Hacksaw Ridge

Hacksaw Ridge

Cast: Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer, Hugo Weaving, Rachel Griffiths, Vince Vaughn
Distributor: Summit Entertainment
Rated PG | 104 Minutes
Release Date: February 21, 2017
I’m not one for the over-dramatized, based on a true story kind of movie. But for most of them, there is something special and inspirational that makes me want to know more about the subject’s story. Case in point, Hacksaw Ridge.
Now I didn’t know anything about Desmond Doss’ harrowing story of how he refused to take up arms during World War II, but ended up saving multiple lives during the Battle of Okinawa. But to see it on the big screen was something else. The fact that it was also directed by Mel Gibson did add some concern to it, given his outrageous behavior and reputation. Still, the film managed to meet my expectations. Check out my review below.

‘Point Break’ Remake Loses Gerard Butler

The upcoming Point Break remake has lost its star.
It’s being reported that 300 and Olympus Has Fallen star Gerard Butler has dropped out of the movie, which will be a new take on the 1991 flick of the same name that starred Patrick Swayze as a surfer who’s part of a bank robbing operation and Keanu Reeves as an FBI agent who goes undercover as a surfer trying to find out who’s involved in the robberies.
Butler was in line to play the Swayze role.

Last month it was reported that 300 and Olympus Has Fallen star Gerard Butler would play Patrick Swayze’s Bodhi role in the planned remake of Point Break.
Now comes word that an actor has been chosen for the Johnny Utah character played by Keanu Reeves in the original. Australian actor Luke Bracey has been officially cast in the movie, which follows the same premise as the original, only set in the world of extreme sports instead of just surfing.

DreamWorks Testing Unknowns For Lead Role In ‘Need For Speed’

Ever since the Fast and Furious franchise shifted its gears from street racing to high-speed heists, there has been a lack of high-octane street racing films. Sure enough DreamWorks will fill that void by adapting the very popular street racing video game Need for Speed. The studio was even thinking about making this a starring vehicle for Liam Hemsworth.
But with Hemsworth’s stock being as high as it is, I imagine DreamWorks would have a difficult time signing the actor on for a possible film franchise. A new report from Deadline says that DreamWorks and Act of Valor director Scott Waugh will no longer pursue Hemsworth as a possible lead. Instead they are going to test younger unknown actors to take the part. The report says that the two people on the top of their list are Home and Away stars Brenton Thwaites and Luke Bracey.
