| Jared Leto Joins The Cast Of ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel
Fresh off having his role as the Joker in the current late summer superhero smash Suicide Squad reduced to a brief cameo, Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto has signed on to co-star in the untitled sequel to the 1982 sci-fi masterpiece Blade Runner. Cameras are set to roll next month on the film that has been in development for years, with a release scheduled for later next year. Denis Villeneuve, the acclaimed filmmaker responsible for Prisoners, Sicario, and the upcoming Arrival, is directing the sequel from a screenplay penned by original Blade Runner scribe Hampton Fancher and former Heroes/Smallville producer Michael Green. Fancher based the original on the late Philip K. Dick‘s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.

| First Look: Concept Art For ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel Starring Harrison Ford
A sequel to the Ridley Scott 1982 scifi classic Blade Runner has been in development for years now, but the highly anticipated film is looking like it’s really coming together now that Harrison Ford has agreed to reprise his role as Rick Deckard and Ryan Gosling has signed on to headline the project. | ‘Blade Runner 2’ Adds ‘The Martian,’ ‘Halt and Catch Fire’ Star Mackenzie Davis
The cast of Blade Runner 2 has added another name. Mackenzie Davis, who appeared in Ridley Scott‘s The Martian and stars in the AMC series Halt and Catch Fire, has signed on for a role. Davis joins original Blade Runner star Harrison Ford, who will reprise his role as Rick Deckard in the sequel, and fellow newcomer Ryan Gosling on the cast. Also starring is Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, and Carla Juri.

| Ridley Scott’s New ‘Blade Runner’ Movie May Be a Sequel To The Original
Back in August we brought you the news that a new Blade Runner movie was in the works at Alcon Entertainment and that original director Ridley Scott, currently in post-production on his Alien prequel Prometheus, would be the guiding force behind this latest journey into a dark and perpetually rainy future. Then it was reported that under Scott’s direction the new film will likely be a complete departure from the original Blade Runner. But in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy blog, Scott revealed that his Blade Runner movie is “liable to be a sequel.”
