| First Look: Jamie Foxx As Electro In ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’
Here’s your first look at Jamie Foxx as the Electro, the villain in Marc Webb‘s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (see photos here below). According to Spider-Man lore, Maxwell “Max” Dillon gained the ability to control electricity after being struck by lightning while working on a power line. It doesn’t look like Webb’s take on Electro will involve any mishaps with power lines, but instead the product of further combining human and animal DNA. While people have been quick to toss out a Mr. Freeze reference from Batman & Robin, Foxx appears less frozen and more luminescent. He looks closer to Abe Sapien than Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Dr. Victor Fries. You know what Foxx’s villain really looks like?

| Prepare For Villain Overload Again: Venom Might Appear in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ |

Production on the tentatively titled The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is proceeding at full speed with casting updates emerging on a weekly basis. We know that Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti will be playing the new villains Electro and the Rhino, respectively, and Shailene Woodley of The Descendants is the Mary Jane Watson of the rebooted franchise. | Paul Giamatti In Negotiations To Play The Rhino In ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’
The casting of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is about to take one very strange turn. Paul Giamatti is reportedly in talks to play the Rhino. If this actually happens, he would be joining Electro (Jamie Foxx) as a possible pair of foes to face off against the webslinger. Like Crazy star Felicity Jones is also rumored to be in talks to join the cast. For those who may be unfamiliar with the hulking villain, The Rhino is a Russian hitman endowed with a powerful thick hide for defense equipped with a large razor sharp horn for offensive destruction. A constant threat to Spider-Man, the Rhino made his debut Amazing Spider-Man #41 in 1966.
