| Geek Peek: First Look At BioWare’s ‘Mass Effect 4’
It’s not much—in fact it’s almost nothing at all—but if you’re dying for just a tiny peek at the future of BioWare’s Mass Effect franchise, you may want to see these. On this, N7 Day (a day dedicated to the release of the original game in the series), many were hard at work on Mass Effect 4…or whatever it will ultimately be called. But on this day, they decided to share with us some of the work they were doing via tweeted images. | BioWare Says ‘Mass Effect 4’ Will Have No Ties To Original Trilogy
We’ve known for a long while now that Mass Effect 3 was to end the Commander Shepard storyline, and that Mass Effect 4, whenever it might actually arrive, would start something new. This is understandable; three games with the same main character is enough and they want to move on to fresh new things. But now comes word that the next game, which will likely start another trilogy story arc, will not only not have Commander Shepard, but that it will likely not have anything to do with any of Shepard’s companions or the events of the original trilogy at all. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of August 28, 2013. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. Since we took last week off, we’re here to drop an extra-sized version of the list this time. Sadly, the list contains one series that is nearly ending, and one series that is going to be significantly changing due to a switch in the creative team. But never fear, we’ve got plenty of other brilliant series to point you towards, including one issue that is a great starting point for one of my favorite titles. In Mass Effect: Foundation #2, we are brought through a day at the citadel. Wrex and Rasa separately are trying to track down Mr. Fist. With Rasa’s purpose to delay Wrex, whose aim is to kill Mr. Fist. Wrex though is having fun fighting through the “distractions” and by distractions, I mean thugs and hired killers. The writing in this issue is great and flows amazingly well. The story is easy to follow, and not particularly long. This is a much more engaging story than the first issue.
