The newly rebooted Ghostbusters is currently under production as we speak. Paul Feig is directing the new female-driven reboot of the classic comedy using a script he co-wrote with Kate Dippold. The film’s cast has a fantastic blend of comedians which consist of Kristen Wigg, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. Just yesterday, the film added Michael K. Williams, Andy Garcia, and Matt Walsh to the cast, and it’s rumored that Saturday Night Live‘s Cecily Strong was also added.

An impressive comedic cast, which is only going to get stronger with the addition of Neil Casey. If that name does not ring a bell that’s fine; he’s known more for his behind-the-scenes work as a writer for various comedies, but has also spent some time in front of the camera. The director of the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, Paul Feig, has shared a couple of new images from the movie. The first of these images shows off the uniforms the new team of ‘busters will be wearing. The second of the images shows what the proton pack they’ll be lugging around to take out pesky spirits with looks like.

The reboot stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon as the new Ghostbusters, with Thor and The Avengers star Chris Hemsworth playing their receptionist.

If you thought the only twist of the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot being directed by Paul Feig (Spy, Bridesmaids) is that the group of ‘busters would be all female instead of the all-male team seen in the original two movies, you would apparently be wrong.

In keeping with the whole gender swap thing, Feig sent out a picture of The Avengers, Thor, and The Cabin in the Woods star Chris Hemsworth on the Twitter a bit ago, introducing him as “our receptionist” with the hashtag #whoyougonnacall. The receptionist role in the original movies was played by Annie Potts.

Melissa McCarthy is incredibly funny, and she is the crown jewel of every Paul Feig film she stars in. Following the success of Bridesmaids and Heat comes Spy, an action-comedy spy film that sees the comedian go from CIA desk analyst to a full-fledged highly untrained spy. We have already seen one trailer for the film, and now Fox has released the second one.

McCarthy play the unknown spy who will be trained by Jude Law, a clean cut suave spy; and Jason Statham, a dark and brooding spy who does whatever it takes to get the job done. The ladies of the new Ghostbusters movie gathered together for a photo op during Sunday night’s SNL 40 After Party in New York City.

Saturday Night Live alum Kristin Wiig, current cast members Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, and two-time SNL host Melissa McCarthy all took part on Sunday evening in NBC’s live broadcast of the 3 1/2-hour star-studded Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special, which was followed by a private After Party that featured all-star musical jams with the likes of Prince, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, and more.
