Konami has released an announce trailer for the next game in the Metal Gear series, and it’s a bit different than fans are used to. The game is the first in the franchise without creator Hideo Kojima, who parted ways with Konami after Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was released, involved.

As you’ll see in the trailer, the game, which is titled Metal Gear Survive, looks…well it looks pretty strange. Much different from the usual Metal Gear game. At first no one had a clue what was going on in the trailer, but thankfully some information on what the game actually is has since been revealed.

Video game legend Hideo Kojima was on hand at the PAX 2012 convention recently to talk about his Metal Gear Solid franchise.

Kojima didn’t announce the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 5 fans were hoping for, but he did announce that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, which is in fact a prologue to MGS 5. He then showed off Ground Zeroes, which uses his brand new Fox Engine.

A 14-minute video of the gameplay demo has now been released online, and can be seen below. The majority of the demo is an in-game cinematic that shows off how gorgeous the game looks, followed by a brief look at the equally impressive gameplay.
