Disenchantment

About a month ago we saw the first trailer for Disenchantment. The animated fantasy comedy series is the latest from none other than Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons and Futurama.

That trailer was just a teaser, sadly, offering only a teeny tiny peek at the new show. But thankfully we didn’t have to wait long to see more. At San Diego Comic-Con a new trailer was unveiled. This time around it’s an official trailer, which gives us a much better look at how Groening’s latest title is looking.

You can find a little bit more info on Disenchantment in the form of a synopsis, find out some of the actors who voice the characters (including a few names which will no doubt make Groening’s many fans very happy), and check out the official trailer along with a recently released poster below.

Melissa McCarthy stars in Ben Falcone's Tammy

Road trip comedies aren’t entirely original, although the characters try to make each and every adventure their own. Melissa McCarthy will be starring in her very own road trip comedy, directed by her husband, Ben Falcone. In it, McCarthy plays as a recently fired fast food employee who finds out that her husband has been cheating on her, and her only method of coping is to go on a road trip with her grandmother (Susan Sarandon).

Again, not completely original, but the star power is there, which give us some hope that it will be at least a mild success. Hit the jump to see the trailer.

Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, Academy Award winners for their screenplay of Alexander Payne’s The Descendants, have written, produced, and directed a delightful coming-of-age film with The Way, Way Back.

The film stars Liam James as Duncan, a 14-year-old introvert who goes on summer vacation with his mother Pam (Toni Collette), her new boyfriend Trent (Steve Carell), and his daughter Steph (Zoe Levin).

When we first meet Duncan, he’s riding in the “way back” of a vintage station wagon driven by Trent, who is sizing him up in the rearview mirror. Trent asks Duncan how he rates himself on a scale of one to ten. When Duncan answers six, Trent tells him he’s a three. He expects Duncan to use his time at the beach house this summer to “get that score up.” What a jerk.
