| ‘Captain Marvel’ Gets ‘Gotham City Sirens’ Scribe To Pen Script
There’s going to be a bit of a dynamic shift going on with the script for Captain Marvel. For the past few years, Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) were writing the script, which would be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck of Mississippi Grind. Now it looks like they are bringing in a new writer. According to a report, Gotham City Sirens writer Geneva Robertson-Dworet will now be penning the script. More on this below.

Slowly but surely, Marvel Studios is beginning to regain the rights of their characters, in some shape or form, of course. It first started with sharing Spider-Man with Sony. Marvel Studios certainly has an eye for finding talented directors. In their search for a director for Captain Marvel, the studio considered Niki Caro (Whale Rider, MacFarland, USA), Lesli Linka Glatter (TV’s Mad Men), and Lorene Scafaria (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World). But it seems like those reports were off just a bit. There’s word that the duo who have worked on Half Nelson, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, and Mississippi Grind together, Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, will direct Marvel’s first female-led superhero flick starring Brie Larson. | Pokemon Live-Action Movie To Be Penned By ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ and ‘Gravity Falls’ Writers
When Legendary Pictures acquired the rights to make a Pokemon movie a month ago, it was following the successful launch of the mobile smartphone game Pokemon Go. Basically, the production company was taking advantage of the resurgence. While the games provide a wealth of source material to work with, Legendary will not be using any of it. Instead, they will be making an adaptation of recent Japanese title Great Detective Pikachu. Now Guardians of the Galaxy writer Nicole Perlman and Gravity Falls animated series scribe Alex Hirsch are close to writing the adaptation. More on the story below.
