When I heard about 13 Hours, the new movie about the conflict in Benghazi, Libya, I’m sure my thoughts were similar to most: “Michael Bay!? Really!?” Bay doesn’t exactly have the credibility to direct a real life war film with controversial elements in the middle of election season. You want action? Sure. You need gigantic coordinated explosions and endless destruction? He’s the man. You need some corny yet amusing dialogue and slow motion wide shots? Check. Why then is it so hard to accept him as the director of the upcoming movie? Two words: Pearl Harbor.
With 13 Hours coming out soon the gang at Screen Junkies tackles Bay’s first attempt at interpreting history, the “titanic” failure, Pearl Harbor.
