Inside Out Header Image

Just by looking at the last two trailers for Pete Docter‘s Inside Out, Pixar’s upcoming animated film, its easy to think that the plot lacks a certain depth. The initial premise follows the five emotions of an 11-year-old girl named Riley, who has to come to terms with her family moving and leaving all her good friends behind.

The trailers have revealed that everyone has the same five emotions, and for the film the ones in Riley’s mind are Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), and Fear (Bill Hader). As we’ve seen before, and emotional outburst at Riley HQ puts a rift between her and her parents. And now the latest trailer reveals what lead to this, and gets deeper into the plot as well as the world beyond the emotion’s HQ. Hit the jump to check out the latest trailer for Inside Out.

Pixar's Inside Out (2015)

2015 will see the release of two original Pixar films, Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur. The first to be released will be Inside Out. Set inside the mind of an 11-year-old girl named Riley, Pete Docter‘s new animated film will have five emotions — Joy, Fear, Disgust, Sadness, and Anger — navigating Riley through life. Basically it is a representation of the inner workings of our mind and how we store memories, with a slight touch of Pixar added to the mix, of course.

We are bound to get a few more trailers and images to give us a better idea of the film in the months leading up to the film’s release. Now, some new images have been released showing us how exactly the emotional characters store memory and view previous ones. Hit the jump to check it out.

Pixar's Inside Out (2015)

The first trailer for Pixar’s Inside Out has been released and it’s really more of an announcement trailer to remind us that the animation studio still exists. 2014 was the first year that Pixar had not released a film, but 2015 will be the first that we see two from the studio — Inside Out first, which will be then followed by The Good Dinosaur a few months later.

Pete Docter‘s latest film will venture into our minds, and turn our emotions into characters. We sort of got a tease as to how these emotions interact with each other in the teaser trailer, but this new trailer – which is more of a fully designed clip of what was shown at last year’s D23 Expo – gives us a better look at how the character’s emotions interact with each other, and how they try to interpret what everyone else is trying to say. Hit the jump to see the full trailer.

Toy Story

The Walt Disney Company chairman Bob Iger has officially announced that Pixar is making Toy Story 4, and that original Toy Story director John Lasseter will be returning to helm the fourth installment himself.

Disney has also locked in the June 16, 2017 calendar spot for a release date. The story will see Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the toys beginning a new chapter. The idea for the story was developed by some of the Pixar Brain Trust, including two-time Oscar-winner Lasseter (Toy Story, Tin Toy), two-time Oscar winner Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, WALL-E), Oscar winner Pete Docter (Up), and Toy Story 2 co-director and Oscar-winning Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich.
