Netflix Confirms ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ Follow Up ‘Ten Years Later’ (Video)

Last summer a limited series prequel to the 2001 comedy Wet Hot American Summer, which was set on the last day of summer camp in 1981, arrived on Netflix titled Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. The joke being that all of the actors who appeared in the original would be 15 years older despite the show taking place earlier. Now another eight-episode season is officially on the way, this time a sequel.
In the original movie, there’s a scene in which the camp attendees agree to meet back there a decade later to catch up. It took 16 years to get to it, but fans will finally be able to see how that meeting went down. Netflix has confirmed that Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later will arrive in 2017.
You can check out a brief confirmation video including the above mentioned scene below.

Inside Out
Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack
Directors: Pete Docter and Ronnie Del Carmen
Screenwriters: Pete Docter, Meg LeFauve, Josh Cooley
Cast: Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Richard Kind
Music: Michael Giacchino
Walt Disney Home Entertainment
Release date: November 3, 2015
The widely successful Inside Out has finally hit DVD/Blu-ray. Recent Pixar fare has not been a true reflection of the poignant emotions you would normally feel while watching films about toys, seniors who go out on one last adventure, clown fish, and tiny robots. So it seems fitting that Pixar’s latest film brings that poignancy home by focusing on the emotions that drive us: Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger, and Fear. We all have these emotions, which makes the film that much more relatable – there are arguments that there are different numbers of emotions, but for narrative sake, directors Pete Docter and Ronnie Del Carmen focused on these five.

‘Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp’ Trailer: “Introducing Jon Hamm”

Netflix has just released the latest trailer for their new upcoming limited series comedy Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp. The eight episode series run takes place before the events of the 2001 cult film.
Director and co-writer David Wain made a point of having the actors play younger versions of themselves in the series despite most of them being fortysomething year-olds. Can’t be sure what’s funnier, that notion or just the amount of hilarity that is seen in the trailer alone. So check it out below.

Disney In Depth: Examining ‘Inside Out’

Four years ago at D23 Expo 2011, Pixar announced what would be its 15th feature film: Inside Out. Two years later came news of the cast and the respective characters. The first time I witnessed early footage I experienced a mix of hope and hilarity. After what has felt like an endless wait, the movie is finally out. Disney•Pixar has developed a gift, a film that sensibly pushes the limits of animation and stretches what our brains can comprehend in a comfortable, if not “mind-blowing” hour-and-a-half format.
Let’s examine Inside Out, in terms of what it is composed of and what this movie can mean for the future of the studio.

VHS Trailer For ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ On Netflix

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming Wet Hot American Summer limited prequel series coming to Netflix later this summer, titled Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. A teaser trailer was released back in January confirming the series’ gigantic cast.
The trailer is an advertisement for Camp Firewood, the fictional camp at which the movie and this series takes place. The movie, which is written by, directed by, and stars members of the MTV comedy group The State, takes place in 1981 and tells the story of the last day at camp, while this new series is a prequel taking place on the first day of that same summer camp season.
Because of the year the show is set in, this trailer ad for the camp is presented in the nostalgia-inducing style of an old VHS video tape. There’s something very strange about watching a VHS-style video in 1080p. You can check it out below.
