Author J.K. Rowling has released the first of 12 new Harry Potter stories (or rather, tidbits) today on the Pottermore website as part of their Pottermore Christmas Surprise” event.

Fans visiting the Pottermore site can unwrap a new story each day by solving a new riddle.

Author J.K. Rowling of Harry Potter fame has been promising something big was coming and fans of the series have been in a frenzy trying to figure it out. Well, Halloween is upon us and it’s been announced that Rowling is going to release a new story featuring one of the most hated (and arguably most evil characters) in all of the Potter storyline, Dolores Umbridge.

It has been a mixed response to the revelation that fans were going to be given more background into the overzealous Defense of the Dark Arts teacher from Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. Fans can expect about 1,700 words or so of insight into the character through Rowling’s website Pottermore.
