Last week on Arrow, the second amendment was front and center, as Mayor Queen’s office was the target of a shooter. The culprit, was a man who lost his entire family to gun violence and was angry that the city did not pass a gun measure. Oliver (Stephen Amell) was able to talk the guy down from doing more harm, and then get a bipartisan measure passed in one episode. Oliver Queen for mayor of NYC!

Last week on Arrow, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) went back to Russia and back to Bratva, after word came through that General Walker (Garry Chalk) escaped, and is selling a nuke to Russia. He and the gang (sans Wild Dog) went to stop that madness, with Rory (Joe Dinicol) stopping a nuclear blast with his rags. He went away because they were broken after that. Oliver’s new sleeping buddy was a spy, unbeknownst to him. Lance (Paul Blackthorne came back, and Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez) stayed behind to babysit and inspire him. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) continued with her “hack-tivist” ways.

Last week on Arrow, the team went shopping for a new Black Canary, but nobody was quite right according to Oliver (Stephen Amell). They found a promising young meta vigilante with the same power as Laurel. She was after the poeple that killed her partner. After ducking them for a while, Oliver showed her another way, and she was on the team. Adrian (Josh Segarra) was able to free Diggle (David Ramsey) while pissing off a shady general. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) went back to her “hack-tivist” ways. In the flashback, Talia al Ghul (Lexa Doig) started training Oliver.

Last week on Arrow, Oliver (Stephen Amell) thought his dreams came true when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) came walking into the lair. We all knew what Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) soon suspected, that she was Black Siren from Earth-2. Working with Prometheus, she pretended she was being forced (although it seemed like it was partly not pretending). Oliver was bent on trying to save her, but a showdown between the team and the villains proved to everyone (still not Oliver), that there was no redemption for this Laurel).

Last night was the 2nd night of The CW’s epic 4-show crossover of Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and they are in the midst of an Alien invasion! And not the good Supergirl kind.” In the last few minutes, the Dominators beamed up Diggle, Thea, Ray, Sarah, and Oliver (David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, and Stephen Amell), after a crazy battle between mind-controlled everyone against Barry (Grant Gustin) and Oliver.

Last week’s Arrow was one of my favorites, as former WWE wrestler, Cody Rhodes, joined the hall of villains as Sampson – a “stardust” dealer, who battled against the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) in the handsomest fight in town. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) confessed her part in Haven Rock to Rory (Joe Dinicol). Diggle (David Ramsey) hallucinated Deadshot in the meanest audience trick, but wants to stay in jail for something he didn’t do, as penance for something he did – kill his brother. Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) was not having it, and went to get Oliver.

DVD Review: ‘Reaper’ Season 2

Reaper season 2 DVDReaper
Season 2
Starring Bret Harrison, Tyler Labine, Rick Gonzalez, Missy Peregrym, Ray Wise
Lionsgate Home Entertainment
Release Date: June 9, 2009

The second season of Reaper had the unfortunate disposition of being seemingly cursed from the very start. After a highly-acclaimed first season gained it a large cult following, the show’s future was still in danger, and the writer’s strike did not help their cause. Eventually, when the dust settled a bit, it was decided that the show would get more of a second chance than a second season with a shortened 13-episode run. Sadly, this uphill battle ended like the finale of Glory, and at this moment Reaper has been canceled with only a few small chances at another network being it’s savior (Read: ‘Reaper’ Canceled: The CW Decides It Wants To Be Just Like Fox When It Grows Up). This of course isn’t the first time a great show was killed too early, and even in this depressing hole, Reaper still has plenty to offer those who have yet to see it.

Reaper is a show about Sam (Bret Harrison), a regular guy who works at a home improvement super store called The Work Bench with his best friends Ben (Rick Gonzalez) and Sock (Tyler Labine), as well as his love interest/friend Andi (Missy Peregrym). On his 21st birthday, Sam discovers that his parents (thinking that they would never have children) sold the soul of their first born child in order to heal his father who was very sick at the time. After he turned 21, the Devil (Ray Wise) comes to claim him and set him off on his new eternal job as the Devil’s bounty hunter, who catches the souls of the damned who escape hell. The show for the most part sounds like a horror movie, and certainly does have scary content, but rest-assured, it’s an incredibly fun and funny series.
