
A while back when Lionsgate acquired Summit Entertainment, it was revealed in completely unsurprising fashion that a reboot of their mega-hit Twilight Saga franchise was a very real possibility.
Everyone else seems to be insta-booting their blockbuster-caliber properties—after successful and unsuccessful attempts alike—so it makes plenty of sense for Lionsgate to want to keep milking as much money out of Twilight as they can. And with their two-part adaptation of the final book in the Stephenie Meyer book series, Breaking Dawn, set close things out this coming fall season, the options were to reboot everything and start from scratch or wait for Meyer to write inevitable future installments.
Now, according to Lionsgate co-chairman Rob Friedman, it could be the latter instead of the former that the suits are leaning toward.
