Ash vs Evil Dead was unquestionably my favorite new show of last year. Debuting on the Starz network on Halloween, it picked up with a now older and not yet wiser Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell), who mistakenly awoke the evil dead by reading from the Necronomicon, while getting high with a lady friend. Things did not go well from then and he was forced to once again don the chainsaw and boomstick to fight evil. Only this time he wasn’t alone. He had sidekicks Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) along for the ride, with Ruby (Lucy Lawless) in hot pursuit. Now, the network has released the Season 2 premiere episode, “Home,” early for online viewers for free at their site. It’s also available now through on STARZ On Demand. The premiere will air on the Starz cable channel this Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 8pm EST.

I go back over 25 years with the Evil Dead franchise. As a small child, I was mesmerized by the posters and big plastic cassette boxes in the video store. My father let me wander through the horror section and occasionally get some tapes, you know, as long as I “didn’t tell mom.” My walls in college were adorned with those same Evil Dead posters I used to see in the stores, and I own various copies of the trilogy on video, DVD, and Blu-Ray. I sat front and center at NYCC last Fall to see the premiere episode of Starz’s series Ash vs Evil Dead, and I’ve reviewed every episode for this site. So it came with great pride and pleasure that I was given a chance to interview several members of the cast while on vacation with my family in Orlando. One of those members was Ash’s new sidekick, Pablo Simon Bolivar, aka Ray Santiago. Somehow I found a quiet spot outside Diagon Alley in Universal Studios. Check out the interview below.

| Interview: The King Of The Bs – Bruce Campbell Of ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ |
 |

I had the honor and privilege of interviewing one of my idols last week. Finding one of the only quiet areas in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I sat down shaking like a total fanboy as I was connected to Bruce Campbell, the star of Starz’s Ash vs Evil Dead, and King of the B-Actors. When I say fanboy, I mean it. About a decade ago, friends and I waited 4 hours to meet him at a horror movie convention, and when the new series debuted at NYCC last Fall, I was there in the front row. Campbell is a legend since he, Sam and Ivan Raimi, and Rob Tapert borrowed money to make Evil Dead (1981). He reprised the role of Ash in 1986’s Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn, and 1992’s Army of Darkness. After co-producing the 2013 remake directed by Fede Alvarez, the decision was made to turn the story of Ash Williams and his never-ending quest to vanquish Deadites and demons into an episodic television series on cable. Starz came calling and the rest, as they say, is history. I asked the King of Chins about the series, and his lengthy career dating back nearly 40 years. Check out the full interview here below.

| SDCC 2016: ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ Panel (Video)
Last Fall, Ash vs Evil Dead premiered at New York Comic-Con. As they prep for the second season of the Starz network show, the cast and crew rolled into San Diego Comic-Con International this past weekend. The panel featured Evil Dead creators and show executive producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, as well as cast members Ted Raimi, Lucy Lawless (Ruby), Ray Santiago (Pablo), Dana DeLorenzo (Kelly), and of course Ash himself, Bruce Campbell. Campbell introduces his special guest, Lee Majors, who will be joining the cast as Ash’s father. You can see the honest appreciation for the legendary actor in Campbell’s introduction. Check out the video here below of the entire panel, as well as a list of some of its highlights.

| ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ Gets A Season 2 From Starz
Fans of The Evil Dead series were elated at the announcement that Bruce Campbell would be reprising his role as Ash for a new TV series on Starz titled Ash vs Evil Dead with director Sam Raimi and producer Rob Tapert also on board. The 10-episode season of 30-minute episodes meant that, after getting a little over four hours of Evil Dead goodness—not counting the ooey, gooey, and gory but Ash-less reboot a couple of years back—in the past 34 years, five new hours would be arriving in the span of just a couple of months beginning with the premiere episode on Halloween night. Now fans have something to be even more excited about. Three days before Ash vs Evil Dead even premieres, Starz has already officially greenlighted a season two.
