Wreck-It Ralph

There are only a few more weeks left before Wreck-It Ralph hits theaters, but the Disney Marketing team isn’t even close to done to pushing this wonderful film. We’ve seen a few trailers in the past, but this newest one has some new footage and even an new way to look at the iconic Disney Castle opening. Check it out below.

The trailer reveals nothing we didn’t already know. Ralph is the bad guy of an 8-bit coin-op arcade game who dreams of being something else. One day he breaks away from his programing and goes game hopping. But because the game relies so much on his presence, Ralph’s absence means that arcade managers would have to pull the plug on the Fix-It Felix Jr. arcade game, putting Felix and his fellow characters in the dark forever.

Wreck-It Ralph

The voice cast for Disney’s video game adventure movie, Wreck-It Ralph, has expanded exponentially, and in a very good way.

The movie, which already features John C. Reilly in the lead as Ralph, a video game bad guy who decides he wants to be the hero, as well as Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Lynch, will now tout an even more impressive list of names.

Walt Disney Animation Studio has announced the additions of Alan Tudyk (Firefly/Serenity, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil), Mindy Kaling (The Office, The 40-Year-Old Virgin), and Ed O’Neill (Modern Family, Married With Children) to the cast, as well as many others.

SDCC 2012: Disneys Wreck-it Ralph Panel

Chris Hardwick (of the Nerdist podcast) introduced Rich Moore, director of Wreck-it Ralph (and former director of many classic episodes of The Simpsons) to the SDCC Comic-Con audience. Moore described the film as the story of a 1980s coin-op video game bad guy who’s having an existential crisis, and no longer wants to be the villain.

They then played ten minutes of various scenes from the film, where Ralph describes the video game world he lives in, and how while “Fix-It Felix, Jr.” players just see sprites on a screen, there’s a whole real world behind the screen.

Wreck-It-Ralph

As an avid fan of classic coin-op arcades, nothing got me more excited than hearing that Disney was working a movie based on the world of the coin-op games. The film titled Wreck-It Ralph was announced to those who attended the D23 Expo last year, and even though the film was in the early stages of development, the concept art for the film looked amazing. Then there was the comedic cast that would be lending their voice talents for the film. Now we got the first teaser for Wreck-It Ralph and you can watch it below.

Before the movie footage starts we get a short introduction from the voice of Wreck-It Ralph himself, John C. Reilly. The trailer gives a somewhat short synopsis of the life of Ralph who is a video game character tired of doing the same villainy for the past 30 years. A lot of the it features the concept art that was seen at the D23 Expo come to life.: The jumping between worlds, Ralph hilariously being tossed over a building, and Ralph attending a villains anonymous meeting with some of video games most classic villains of the past and a few generic ones as well.

Ah, family. That’s what it’s all about, right? Spending time with the ones that you love as often as possible; sharing life and memories and laughter with them in the short time we’re on this beautiful big rock.

OK, so that’s what it’s about for a lot of people — it’s not so true for others. Like the Meyerowitz family, for example. Every single year they gather on their father’s birthday to celebrate the man that made them who they are today. Unfortunately, on this particular birthday gathering, one of them has the others not so happy and emotions are running high and hot.

Peep World is a movie about one person’s success at the expense of their own family. Nathan Meyerowitz (Ben Schwartz), an author whose book has gone on to massive popularity, skyrocketing him to the top of the world, is living the good life. The only problem is that his book is a tell-all, and it does not shine a positive light on his mother, father, two brothers, and sister.
