The Flash

Ever since Warner Bros. shifted the schedules for their DCEU slate, things for The Flash starring Ezra Miller did not look good. Things got progressively worse for the film as Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies author Seth Grahame-Smith and Dope director Rick Famuyiwa left the project over creative differences. With the film unable to make its rumored January start date, the studio has been forced to do an overhaul of the script with Joby Harold doing the rewrites.

The Flash

Just as things were moving forward with the DCEU, The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, has hit another bump in the road. Earlier this year, Dope helmer Rick Famuyiwa signed on to direct the standalone film based on the Scarlet Speedster, replacing Seth Grahame-Smith, who had departed in April. Now comes word that Famuyiwa is also stepping away from the project, and for the exact same reasons that made Grahame-Smith leave.

The Flash

It was only a matter of time before Warner Bros. found a new someone to replace Seth Grahame-Smith as director of The Flash, starring Ezra Miller. The two parted ways due to creative differences but some say it was his inexperience directing films. Handing off a blockbuster film to a first-time director would have been too risky.

And now there are new reports that the studio has settled on Dope director Rick Famuyiwa to helm the film about the Scarlet Speedster of Central City. More on the story below.

The Flash

Fans got their first look at Ezra Miller as The Flash when he made a cameo appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The film initially is setting up other Justice Leaguers for their own solo DCEU features, and with most of those films having its directors, it seemed like smooth sailing for Warner Bros. But now it looks as though The Flash feature will have to find a new director as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies author Seth Grahame-Smith is departing from the film.

Justice League Header Image

Despite the mounting rumors that unhappy test audiences could force Warner Bros. to fire Zack Snyder as director of Justice League: Part One, the studio announced him as the film’s helmer. However, a rather disappointing showing at the box office has forced WB to pull back on the number of films they will be releasing, and forcing them to focus more on their franchise tentpoles.
