Telltale's Game of Thrones #1

Recently we found out some story details regarding Game of Thrones, the upcoming point-and-click video game adaptation of the hit HBO series based on George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series. The game comes from Telltale Games, the developer behind the mega popular episodic video game take on The Walking Dead.

Of the info we found out, it was revealed that the debut season of Game of Thrones would be six episodes instead of the usual six, and that the first episode titled “Iron From Ice” would be released sometime this year. This of course meant a trailer would be arriving soon, and so it has! The teaser trailer isn’t very long, but does offer the first look at what the game will look like and perhaps a familiar voice and face or two.

You can watch the trailer below.

Game of Thrones Telltale Games

Some new story details have been revealed for Game of Thrones, the upcoming episodic video game series being developed by Telltale Games, the studio behind the massively popular point-and-click video game adaptation of another megahit TV series based on a popular book or comic, The Walking Dead.

The game will of course be inspired by the work of author George R.R. Martin, just as the HBO series of the same name is, but it will be based more on the world, characters, and events seen in the TV series than the books.

You can read much more about the game and its story below, and also see a pair of promo images.

Walking Dead Telltale Games

The Walking Dead
Season 2, Episode 1 – “All That Remains”
Online Game Code
DEVELOPER: Telltale Games
PUBLISHER: Telltale Games
RELEASE DATE: December 17, 2013 (Steam, PS3) l December 18 (Xbox 360, iOS)

Telltale’s The Walking Dead is finally back and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen to Clementine after the first season’s tragic ending. And now in season 2 you get to play as Clementine and the story really tests her innocence and what she is willing to do to survive. But will the first episode of season 2 live up to it’s incredibly high expectations? Or has it finally gotten old and we have just seen it all before?

The bulk of this story takes place 16 months after the final events of season 1. Clementine ends up with a survivor from season 1 but then gets separated. After that she has to fend for herself until she comes across a new group. The majority of the first episode is her interaction with this untrusting group. A few people in the group accept Clementine and want her to join. While others in the group want to turn her away. There is an interesting group dynamic here this season, but most of it is not revealed in episode 1. You get just enough to know a little about several characters, but not enough to know what has happened to all of them or to know what their goals or intentions are.
