With October just around the corner, the horror season is about to begin! But it’s not just all about movies (though lots and lots and lots of those will be watched, of course). One could argue (as this writer would) that video games are where you can find the best scares. There’s simply nothing like playing a good horror video game. When you’re controlling things—you’re the one opening that door or turning that corner or investigating that strange noise you heard—the fear is intensified, sometimes to an almost unbearable level.

There’s plenty of great horror game options out there, and some new ones releasing soon. One releasing soon is The Evil Within, the new survival horror from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. From what we’ve seen so far, the game looks supremely twisted and terrifying, and the latest gameplay trailer is no different. You can check it out below.

Yesterday we saw a gameplay trailer for the alternate history first-person shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order, which is being published by Bethesda. Today comes another gameplay trailer from an upcoming Bethesda-published game, The Evil Within.

The game is developed by Tango Gameworks, and directed by Shinji Mikami, the father of survival horror and creator of Resident Evil. We’ve already seen some disturbing peeks at the game, and you can check out the latest trailer below.

A new gameplay trailer has been released for The Evil Within, the upcoming survival horror game from the father of the genre, Shinji Mikami, the man who created Resident Evil. The game comes from Tango Gameworks, the Japanese arm of Bethesda Softworks parent company ZeniMax Media, and will be released some time in 2014.

Mikami will be showing off his new game at the Tokyo Game Show, and this new trailer was released for those of us who won’t be in attendance. You can see the trailer below.
