| Guillermo Del Toro & ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Co-Creator David Eick To Unite For ‘Incredible Hulk’ TV Show |
 |

If the initial news that ABC Studios and Marvel TV were developing a new live-action television series based on the comic book superhero, The Incredible Hulk, wasn’t enough to have you jumping up and down with excitement, well…this just might help. Deadline is reporting that visual mastermind Guillermo del Toro and David Eick, who helped create, develop, write, and produce Battlestar Galactica with Ronald D. Moore, are joining creative forces to help bring this new Incredible Hulk incarnation to life. The duo will work together to craft the perfect pilot storyline, which Eick will write the script for and del Toro might just direct…if his ridiculous schedule allows him to, of course. Del Toro will also oversee the design of the Hulk himself, and how they’ll take previous versions of the character and utilize them in creating their own vision of the massive, green hero. Even better, word is that the Hulk will not be all CGI as we’re used to seeing in movies these days. Instead, they’ll use a combination of prosthetics, CGI, and puppetry to attempt to deliver the ultimate new visual embodiment of this intimidating force.

| What Form Will TV’s New Hulk Take? |
 |
With the news last month of a live-action Hulk television series in development over at ABC, many questions are swimming through the minds of fans.
Will it be in continuity with the Marvel films? Will any of the film actors commit to a television series? Who will play Banner? For myself, the first question that sprung to mind was, “How are they going to do the Hulk effects?” I’ve made no secret of my long-standing love affair with the not-so-jolly green giant, and of all the creative hoops the studio and show-runner will eventually have to jump through, the one that weighs most heavily on my mind as a fan is what the beast will actually look like on the small screen. It might surprise some to learn that the Hulk is one of the few characters to have been brought to life through almost every school of visual effects there is. Behind the cut, we’ll take a look at those different incarnations and speculate on their potential for the new television series.

| Next Superhero On The Way To Your TV: ‘The Incredible Hulk’ |
 |

ABC is now in the early stages of developing a new live-action television series based on the Marvel superhero, The Incredible Hulk. The announcement comes as no surprise after ABC owner The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel, leading to the birth of Marvel TV and hopes of bringing all of those superheros to your living room. And with years of successful feature film adaptations of all of these comic book heroes under their belt, why not try the series format. Earlier this month is was announced that Warner Brothers TV was developing their own comic book television series based on Wonder Woman. Unlike most of the other superheroes, this came after years of failed attempts at adapting Wonder Woman into its own movie. The Hulk has seen two feature films make it to the big screen, with one from director Ang Lee starring Eric Bana being universally disliked and the other from director Louis Leterrier and starring Edward Norton thaw received a significant amount of praise.

| Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk To Be Motion-Capture In ‘The Avengers’; Will Channel Bill Bixby
During an event recently, actor Mark Ruffalo shared some details on his Incredible Hulk character in Joss Whedon‘s upcoming comic book epic, The Avengers. Ruffalo offered up a cool little reveal about what was being planned for his part, saying “I’m really excited. No one’s ever played the Hulk exactly, they’ve always done CGI. They’re going to do the Avatar stop-action, stop-motion capture. So I’ll actually play the Hulk. That’ll be fun.” In Ang Lee’s 2003 take, Hulk, with Eric Bana, and in Louis Leterrier’s 2008 film, The Incredible Hulk, with Edward Norton, the lead actors played Bruce Banner while Hulk was computer animated. But now, with technology constantly evolving, it should come as no surprise that they’ve decided to use motion-capture techniques with this new version of the giant green superhero.
