| First Images & Poster For Live-Action ‘Tarzan’ Starring Alexander Skarsgard, Margot Robbie
The first images and poster have been released for The Legend of Tarzan, Warner Brothers’ new live-action take on author Edgar Rice Burroughs‘ Tarzan stories. The movie stars True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard in the title role. He’s joined by The Wolf of Wall Street breakout Margot Robbie, who will also be seen playing Harley Quinn in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie, as Jane; Djimon Hounsou (Gladiator, Blood Diamond) as Chief Mbonga; Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, The Avengers) as George Washington Williams; and Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained) as the villain, Captain Leon Rom. | David Yates Courting Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, Charlie Hunnam & Alexander Skarsgard For Lead Role In ‘Tarzan’ |

After working on the last four installments of Harry Potter, director David Yates was looking for some new employment and settled on a new adaptation of Edgar Rice Burrough‘s Tarzan. Now that he has gotten the deal that he wanted, Yates is looking for some actors to take on the role and he has already settled on rising stars like Henry Cavill, Charlie Hunnam, Alexander SkarsgÃ¥rd, and Tom Hardy for the lead role. Vulture reports that Yates committed to the project on Monday and is meeting with the aforementioned names soon. Hardy seems like a shoe in for the role since he had some big roles in Inception and The Dark Knight Rises, but Charlie Hunnam also has a role in Pacific Rim, and Henry Cavill plays as Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, both pics are under the WB name. I imagine that WB wants to get the ball rolling on this project sooner rather than later and might not want to wait on the results of Pacific Rim and Man of Steel.
