Olympus finale time! What a strange journey for both the characters and the audience. Our Hero (es) have finally made it to Olympus, but now they need to get in and down to business.
Last week on Olympus, Medea (Sonita Henry) sacrificed herself to the witch Circe for guidance. It turned her hair gray and her voice growly. Despite this sacrifice, Oracle (Sonya Cassidy) and Hero (Tom York) argue like 10-year old girls the entire time. Daedalus (Matt Frewer) just hangs around, but seems to know more than he is saying. Hermes comes around and acts fierce, but then seems to back off when the ring is presented. They all end up in the temple of Gaia – back to basics. The key is in a kiss.

Last week‘s Olympus was about weird visions of sex and actual weird sex. Stuck in the frozen room with Medea (Sonita Henry), Hero (Tom York) started imagining his mother propositioning him. Really gross. He then imagines Ariadne (Sophia Lauchlin Hirt) and Oracle (Sonya Cassidy) both dressed as Medea, circling and accusing him. The two shocking moments of the episode were when Medea and Hero had unfeeling sex as the solution to escape, and when Hero killed Minos (Allan C. Peterson). It actually wasn’t the killing part that was surprising. It was Oracle’s genuine grief at his demise. She had really come to care for the brute. Turns out, that brute was the key to Hero’s third and final sacrifice. He now can enter Olympus… if he can find it.

Last week on Olympus, my favorite scene of the series happened, as Medea (Sonita Henry) was rescued by her dead sons – all three of them. I was wondering when Olympus was going to cover that. Hero (Tom York) lost his love of 5 minutes, Ariadne (Sophia Lauchlin Hirt) in Pandora’s Tomb. The River Styx, which carries the souls of the dead to Hades, flows in there. Medea finds him there and they are forced to run, as fog rolls in. The fog separates them in the same place, but in different hallucinations. Hero sees dead Ariadne, while Medea sees her dead sons. And Daedalus (Matt Frewer), wandering, finds Icarus, and tried to follow him back to the grave.

Last week on Olympus, Hero (Tom York) and Ariadne (Sophia Lauchlin Hirt – who stalked him into loving her) found Pandora’s tomb, which they believe is the door to Olympus. Aegeus (Graham Shiels) runs his mouth as he usually does, and Lykos (Wayne Burns) goes to defend him, killing a man then falling to the ground, injured. Medea (Sonita Henry) finds herself all tied up.

Last week on Olympus, we had one of the best episodes yet. King Minos (Alan C. Peterson) and his men captured Athens. Ariadne slit Pallas’s (John Emmet Tracy) throat. Lykos (Wayne Burns) was most upset. He and King Aegeus (Graham Shiels) get thrown in the dungeon. The cliffhanger was a scorpion about to strike a bound Oracle (Sonya Cassidy), thanks to Ariadne (Sophia Lauchlin Hirt). Hero (Tom York) escapes by agreeing to let Minos’s priests (really Medea – Sonita Henry), bleed him for The Lexicon. He stops time and vanishes in front of their eyes.

Last week on Olympus, Hero (Tom York) met Future Hero, who didn’t really give him any good news or news at all. Turns out he has to kill Love. We all know that’s the Oracle (Sonya Cassidy), except for maybe Hero, but he’s a guy, and very innocent in the ways of women, so what does he know? He and Medea (Sonita Henry) join forces. Yuck! Lykos’s (Wayne Burns) lover and scribe, Kimon (Levi Meaden), is also his bastard brother. Aegeus (Graham Shiels) grows them on trees, doesn’t he? Lady Magus dies at the tricky hands of Hero, and in her sister Medea’s arms. What?

Two weeks ago, on Olympus, Hero (Tom York) is home with his loving family – Aegeus (Graham Shiels) who tries to strangle him and whom hero has no respect for, Medea (Sonita Henry), who does seems like she cares a little plus he actually does respect her, and Lykos (Wayne Burns), who has a jealous fit to his mother. I mean, who can blame the guy? She IS his mother, and he did let her bleed him extensively. Pallas’s (John Emmet Tracy) treason was found out, thanks to clever Medea. Aegeus threw his ass in jail.

Last week’s Olympus saw Hero (Tom York) finally make it to Athens and confront his father, King Aegeus (Graham Shiels) which is what he wanted, and his brother Lykos (Wayne Burns), which he did not. Oracle (Sonya Cassidy) is still trapped with King Minos (Alan C. Peterson) and his daughter Ariadne (Sophia Lauchlin Hirt), who is getting pretty frisky. She is only holding them at bay with fake visions and advice. And yay! Daedalus (Matt Frewer) isn’t blind!

We are on the 5th episode of Syfy’s Olympus and it’s been bloody and funny and crazy. But before we get to that, let’s recap last week’s episode.
The motley crew, Daedalus, Oracle, and Hero (Matt Frewer, Sonya Cassidy, and Tom York) are captured by King Minos (Alan C. Peterson). Daedalus is tortured via bees (bees are inserted into closed box on his head and sting him until he is blind). Hero is tortured via snake and then sexual promises (more like warnings) by Ariadne (Sophia Lauchlin Hirt), and Oracle is in King Minos’s sexual clutches, but she uses her wit and fake visions until he’s saying, “that’s never happened before.” King Aegeus (Graham Shiels) is off his rocker, planning a suicide battle strategy, so Lykos (Wayne Burns) pleads with his mother to do something. She gets him to postpone his idiocy by giving him permission to sacrifice himself and have sex with a priestess. She makes Lykos go fetch Hero in return. This makes Xerxes and Pallas (Cas Anvar and John Emmet Tracy) think she is in league with Minos (found through Lykos’s spy scribe). I have no idea what’s up with this blonde huntress stalking Hero.

What happened last week on this colorful and cheesy mythological drama?
On Olympus 1.3 “Ring Of The Magi,” Oracle (Sonya Cassidy) sees that Aegeus (Graham Shiels) will destroy Athens. They get captured AGAIN, but Hero (Tom York) is able to retrieve the ring, needed in conjunction with the Lexicon (which is inside Hero). Lykos (Wayne Burns) continues to impress Pallas (John Emmet Tracy) and Xerxes (Cas Anvar) with his war plans. The latest – poison the food of the Minoans to strike them down. He asks his mother Medea (Sonita Henry) for poison and she panics thinking he knows she’s been poisoning his dad. Plus, the two conspirators plan to kill her in plain sight. She can’t manage to wake up Aegeus. Luckily, he wakes up in the nick of time and acts like a giant jerk to her and Lykos, but at least she’s alive.
