Last week on Olympus, my favorite scene of the series happened, as Medea (Sonita Henry) was rescued by her dead sons – all three of them. I was wondering when Olympus was going to cover that. Hero (Tom York) lost his love of 5 minutes, Ariadne (Sophia Lauchlin Hirt) in Pandora’s Tomb. The River Styx, which carries the souls of the dead to Hades, flows in there. Medea finds him there and they are forced to run, as fog rolls in. The fog separates them in the same place, but in different hallucinations. Hero sees dead Ariadne, while Medea sees her dead sons. And Daedalus (Matt Frewer), wandering, finds Icarus, and tried to follow him back to the grave.
Olympus 1.11 “The Speed Of Time” review: Although not as gripping as last week, this week’s episode was definitely trippy. Hero and Medea were trapped in the frozen throne room and had to snuggle. And Hero kept imagining one inappropriate situation after another. He kissed his mom, he saw her boobs, he kissed Medea, and then… he has sex with her! Wasn’t he trying to hang onto his virginity? On top of all that, he has the nerve to get mad at Oracle (Sonya Cassidy) for spooning with King Minos (Alan C. Peterson). But I get ahead of myself.
The sex seems to trigger a meltdown, and now Hero, Medea, and Daedalus (Matt Frewer) try to figure out Gaia’s (another vision) weird advice. Hero has to cross a bridge to get to Zeus. What bridge? Where is it? How?
Hero succeeds in making the third sacrifice.
There is a death at the end of this episode, which is not surprising in and of itself. What is surprising is who was the murderer, and who grieved.
We know about a bridge now, so this season long journey towards Olympus is almost upon us. Come on Olympus… please make it good when we get there.
Nice touch showing Daedalus’s past, choosing work over family. Midget Apollo’s lesson seems like straight truth.
Olympus airs Thursday nights at 11pm ET on Syfy.

Loved it, my favorite episode of the season. I dig the Daedalus dialogue and his determination to understand the relative nature of the speed of time.
