‘Transformers’ Shared Universe Writing Team Grows To 12

The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2 writer Zak Penn, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Lost“˜s Jeff Pinkner, and Ant-Man co-writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, Lindsey Beer (The Fugitive remake) and Christina Hodson (the re-imagining of Wizard of Oz) currently make up the writing team of the Transformers Shared Universe, and now that team is about to add three more.
Joining the team will be former Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight, Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Black List script Hibernation). The team will be led by Akiva Goldsman, who talked a little bit about the upcoming universe and what to expect from him and the team. Read what he had to say below.

Paramount Hires Lindsey Beer, Christina Hodson To Join ‘Transformers’ Shared Universe Team

In the past few weeks, the Transformers shared universe story trust has grown. But fans have taken issue with the team’s lack of diversity, and in response to that Paramount Pictures has hired a pair of female writers, Lindsey Beer and Christina Hodson.
The duo will be joining the writing team made up of The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2 writer Zak Penn, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Lost‘s Jeff Pinkner, and Ant-Man co-writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari. The team will be led by Akiva Goldsman.

Bumblebee May Get His Own ‘Transformers’ Spinoff

Of the many Transformers on the ever changing Autobot roster, Bumblebee is probably the one that consistently appears. In fact, like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee has appeared in all four Transformers live-action films. Paramount has formed a Transformers story trust to create sequels and spinoffs, with another sequel intended to be directed by Michael Bay after he finished his work on his Benghazi movie 13 Hours. The studio is targeting a 2017 release, and a spinoff rumored to take place on Cybertron.
Now, a new rumor has emerged saying that another spinoff could focus on Bumblebee.

‘Transformers’ Shared Universe Adds ‘Ant-Man’ Scribes To The Staff

Last week it was confirmed that The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2‘s Zak Penn, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Lost“˜s Jeff Pinkner would be writing the scripts for various Transformers spinoffs as a part of the shared universe that Paramount was creating. The writers are essentially working as a story trust with all working on respective scripts while also providing creative input on other ones.
Now a new report says that Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari will be joining the staff. More on the story below.

‘Transformers 5’ Targets 2017 Release

Despite Transformers: Age of Extinction being one of the lowest grossing of all the live-action Transformer films, the franchise will be getting a fifth installment. Recent news of the franchise forming a story trust to expand for possible crossovers (though not one with G.I. Joe) would allow for endless – yet possibly mindless action-filled possibilities. We’re not really sure what to make of Transformers 5, due to the fact that development on the film has been inactive. Now we are getting word that Hasbro is eyeing Transformers 5 for a 2017 release.
