| ‘Girlfriend’s Day’ Trailer: This Year’s Perfect Valentine’s Day Movie
A trailer has been released for Girlfriend’s Day, an upcoming Netflix original movie from director Michael Paul Stephenson. The movie stars Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul, Mr. Show) as a greeting card writer who finds himself in the middle of a nasty situation as people compete to pen the perfect card for a newly created holiday, Girlfriend’s Day. Odenkirk is joined by an impressive cast on the dark comedy, including Amber Tamblyn, Natasha Lyonne, Ed Begley Jr., Stacy Keach, Rich Sommer, June Diane Raphael, Andy Richter, Stephanie Courtney, Toby Huss, Stephen Michael Quezada, Derek Waters, Larry Fessenden, and Echo Kellum. | Valentine’s Day 2016: It’s The End Of The World, Per ‘Ghostbusters II’
Today is Valentine’s Day 2016, which, according to Ghostbusters II, is the end of the world. In the 1989 sequel, Bill Murray’s Dr. Peter Venkman has gone from ghostbusting to TV host of World Of The Psychic. In one episode of the talk show, Dr. Venkman interviews a woman named Elaine (Chloe Webb), who states that according to her sources, the end of the world will be on February 14, 2016. “Bummer,” Venkman replies, before hearing how Elaine knows this is the date (from aliens, of course!). | Valentine’s Day 2015: Top 10 Best Geek Movie Romances
Ah Valentine’s Day! Love is in the air, card and chocolate companies make millions, and we get an influx of The Notebook – Sleepless in Seattle – Titanic-y movies. And those are ok. I’m not knocking them. Although I haven’t seen the first two, I definitely saw Titanic 37 times, and can never manage to change the channel if my remote happens to land on a channel when it’s on (even with commercials). We all love love. But there are some unsung heroes in romance land. Lovely couples, trapped inside some of the coolest movies out there, destined to never or barely be mentioned on such a loving list. You may agree or disagree, or we may agree to disagree, but here are my stand-outs. I’ll probably think of 12 more after the article is published.
