Disney In Depth: 20 Best ‘Boy Meets World’ Episodes (Part 1)

Boy Meets World, the coming-of-age series of our childhood and adolescence, reaches its 20th anniversary this September since it first debuted to the “world.” In honor of this special occasion, I thought we should look back at this ABC series, produced by Disney’s formerly-named Touchstone Television, to recognize some of its best episodes. Now we all have our favorites, each for different reasons.
This serves as the first edition of a two-part Disney In Depth that reflects on my 20 favorites with a clip from each episode – in no particular order, only listed from the series’ beginning to end – and why each possesses a special gift.

Batman: The Brave and The Bold
Season One, Part Two
DVD
Starring: Diedrich Bader, John DiMaggio, Will Friedle, James Arnold Taylor
Warner Home Video
Released date: March 15, 2011
Finally, the second part of Batman: The Brave and The Bold Season One has hit store shelves, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Previously, I mentioned how much I love this show, but my love for the show didn’t really develop until the second half of season one. This is really when the show came on my radar, so I’m excited to finally get my hands on this DVD.
This DVD set features some incredibly awesome team ups and voice acting that will make any geek’s heart beat just a little faster. Some of the dream teams that we see are Batman teamed up with Etrigan The Demon, and Sherlock Holmes in “Trials of the Demon!”, Batman and a depressed Aquaman in “Mystery in Space!”, and an AWESOME team up featuring Bat-Mite in “Legends of the Dark Mite!”, which is just as crazy as it sounds. Also, in this season we have the legendary appearance of Neil Patrick Harris in the musical episode, “Mayhem of the Music Meister!”, which is just as awesome as it sounds.

 The Secret Saturdays
Volume 1-2
Created by Jay Stephens
Featuring the voices of Phil Morris, Nicole Sullivan, Diedrich Bader, Sam Lerner, Fred Tatasciore, Will Friedle, Corey Burton
Cartoon Network
The Cartoon Network’s The Secret Saturdays is a throwback cartoon that tips their hats off to various cartoons and genres of yesteryear. The cartoon focuses on the Saturday family, a team of crypto-zoologists (or scientists that search for strange creatures), as they go on adventures of exploration and various forms of daring-do. Along the way, they deal with their own rogue gallery of rival crypto-zoologists and various other supped up big baddies.
While I am definitely not the demographic for this cartoon, I must say that I actually enjoyed the cartoon a lot. I am a fan of mythical beasts like Bigfoot or The Loch Ness and I am glad to see an actual cartoon focused on it. The writing and overall tone of the series reminded me a lot of the old Hanna Barbera cartoons, mostly notably Johnny Quest. The creators also throw in a Fantastic Four vibe into the mix and that gels very nicely with the series as a whole (and with yours truly). There is definitely a lot of humor and action that is not family friendly but, I dare say it, adult friendly too.
