| ‘King Of The B’s’ Roger Corman Launching Paid YouTube Channel This Summer |

Roger Corman may be known to most as the premiere producer of some of the finest exploitation movies ever made, but to those in the know he is also one of the most important and influential figures in the entertainment industry. Many of Hollywood’s finest talents on both sides of the camera owe their careers in some part to the go-for-broke tutelage they were given by working for Corman, including filmmakers like Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Robert Towne, Peter Bogdanovich, and Ron Howard, and actors like Jack Nicholson, Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, Bruce Dern, and Robert Englund. Corman is a legend, and that is the undisputed truth. This summer Corman is bringing a catalog of over 400 films he produced and/or directed to the vast cybernetic landscape of the Internet as he launches Corman’s Drive-In, a YouTube channel that will offer up his films for viewing for a fee still yet to be determined.

| ‘Star Trek’ Fans Unite! Vote To Name One Of Pluto’s Moons ‘Vulcan’
Two previously unknown moons of Pluto, with the temporary names “P4” and “P5,” were recently discovered, and now the public has a chance to vote on what to name them! One of the 21 proposed names on the ballot is Vulcan, which in the Star Trek universe is the name of Mr. Spock’s home world. Head over to the SETI website Pluto Rocks and cast your vote for Vulcan, which is actually in the lead right now, with Cerberus and Styx following close behind. William Shatner, who played starship Captain James T. Kirk on the original Star Trek television series and movies, is actually the person who suggested that Vulcan, which is the name of the Roman god of lava and smoke, and the nephew of Pluto, be added to the ballot. Shatner has been tweeting the link out to plutorocks.com, urging his followers to vote for Vulcan, in hopes that the International Astronomical Union (IAU) will actually choose the name.

| $5 MP3 Album Deal: William Shatner ‘The Transformed Man’
The Transformed Man, an “it has to be heard to be believed” recording by the irrepressible, incomparable actor William Shatner, is now available on MP3 format from Amazon this month for only $5.00. Recorded during the original run of Shatner’s appearance as Captain James T. Kirk on NBC-TV’s Star Trek (in 1968) and certainly during a time when the way Shatner is perceived now (a legendary sci-fi maven and colorful larger than life figure) was still in its infancy stages, The Transformed Man has all that fun, pretentious, spoken word in a musical sense Shatner became famous for. Not holding anything back, and presented with a vocal swagger and patter that he’s as famous for as anything else in his illustrious career, The Transformed Man is a must for any fan of Shatner and his television and theatrical and literary musings.

| ISS Astronaut Chris Hadfield Responds To Captain Kirk’s Hails
Chris Hadfield, an astronaut currently serving aboard the International Space Station (ISS) who frequently tweets about and posts photos of the breathtaking views as the station orbits Earth, was the first Canadian to walk in space. So, it’s not surprising that fellow Canadian William Shatner, an actor best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk of the starship Enterprise on Star Trek, would follow Hadfield’s activities on Twitter and maybe even send the real-life spaceman a message. Earlier this month, Shatner asked Hadfield via Twitter if the astronaut was currently tweeting from space. Hadfield both surprised and delighted all who were observing when he responded using Star Trek lingo and addressed Shatner as “Captain” [squeeee!!!!!]. @WilliamShatner Yes, Standard Orbit, Captain. And we’re detecting signs of life on the surface.
