Yesterday Mike Morhaime, president of Blizzard Entertainment, announced a security breach via a ‘Blue Post’ on Blizzard’s official web site citing “an unauthorized and illegal access into our internal network here at Blizzard.” In the wake of the shaky Diablo III launch, and with the release of Mists of Pandaria looming so close upon the horizon, Blizzard really doesn’t need any more on their plate but they can’t seem to catch a break. Morhaime goes on to state that “for players on North American servers, the answer to the personal security question, and information relating to Mobile and Dial-In Authenticators were also accessed. Based on what we currently know, this information alone is NOT enough for anyone to gain access to Battle.net accounts.” It should be noted at this time Blizzard doesn’t believe that any credit card information was accessed, and what was taken was simply e-mail addresses and SRP-encoded (Secure Remote Password protocol) versions of user passwords.

Well kids, another year has passed and we are close to a new World of Warcraft expansion. First though, let’s take a look back at the Cataclysm. As a guild, Geeks Of Doom had a pretty big expansion. We saw the return of a lot of old faces, the departure of some, but overall we added a ton of new members. We made further progression in raiding than we ever had before as a guild. While we stalled a little in Firelands due to healer issues and leadership changes, we came back strong in Dragon Soul (DS), and killed Deathwing before the nerfs really hit hard. With the widespread down-time we’re experiencing at the end of this expansion (what’s the deal with that Blizzard? At least Wrath of the Lich King [WotLK] gave us Ruby Sanctum to make you feel like there was something different to do toward the end), I figured I would give a quick idea of where GoD is heading in the next expansion, and some of the things we’re looking forward to in Mist of Pandaria.

Beginning as a webisode series, The Guild follows main character Cyd Sherman, otherwise known as Codex, who is grappling with her obsession (addiction) with online gaming. Participating in a MMORPG (resembling World of Warcraft, but referred to only as "The Game" in the show), Codex is teamed with a guild known as the Knights Of Good.

| Sam Raimi Will No Longer Direct ‘World Of Warcraft’ Movie Adaptation
With Oz: The Great and Powerful set for a March 2013 release, World of Warcraft fans hoped that director Sam Raimi would be moving on to direct an adaptation of the massively popular MMORPG. But in the two years since it was announced that Raimi would be directing the film, there has been no solid developments, and things weren’t looking good for the adaptation. Now a new interview confirms every World of Warcraft player’s worst fears: Raimi is not directing the big screen adaptation, a film that has been stuck in development hell for a very long time.
