| Watch Fender’s ‘A Strat Is Born’ Film Showing How The Stratocaster Is MadeFender has posted a new short film called A Strat is Born, which takes you on a quick journey showing how their popular Stratocaster guitar is made. You can watch the 4-minute video here below. Unlike most “how its made” videos, this one has no narration, no puns, no interviews — instead, it’s quick clips along the assembly line at Fender’s U.S. manufacturing facility in Corona, CA, all to a booming score by Wayne Kramer, guitarist of the MC5. While the Stratocaster is made in a factory, this video shows that its not all heavy machinery doing the work, as there’s a lot of hand craftsmanship going on here. Being a fan of the Strat myself, I loved getting an inside look into how this guitar is made, although, I must admit, I was a bit disappointed that Yngwie Malmsteen was not at the end of the assembly line scalloping the fretboards.

Artist Maxim Dalton has created a new illustration called “Guitar Lessons” which features 35 rock guitar greats. Dalton plans to offer up posters for this, and that there will be 50 hand-signed and numbered giclée prints at 19 x 25 inches. The cost will be around $40, plus $11 shipping for the U.S. and Europe. | Hard Rock And Metal Icons Join Forces With Russian Band ‘Pushking’ To Release Epic Album |

Russian band Pushking have joined forces with an onslaught of major musicians and vocalists from heavy metal and hard rock to create an impressive line-up on a collaborative album. The release has been titled The World as We Love It, and compiles 19 re-recorded songs from Pushking’s past efforts, with special guests ranging from Paul Stanley (KISS) and Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme) to Alice Cooper and Steve Vai!
