In a Parade Magazine Q&A session someone asked about the potential for a third Men in Black movie, considering how popular sequels are these days.
One question in particular was if there would be a third installment Men In Black, the popular scifi/action franchise starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.
The answer wasn’t surprising: Yes — if producer Walter Parkes can arrange it.
“The challenge is getting the script right and finding a time when our busy stars are available,” says a source close to Parkes. “But everyone, including Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, wants to do another.”
I enjoyed both previous movies, so I wouldn’t really be appalled at a third one to be honest. The formula worked, the movies are fun and funny and they make a shitload of money, so why not? It would give me something to look forward to with Will Smith, too, instead of watching somberly as I Am Legend movies are made.
Most people will likely find this to be a joke, which is fair. I just hope it’s got even a little substance to it instead of a shell of the former movies made simply to cash in on… more so than they already are of course. The Men In Black movies have made over a billion dollars in worldwide box office alone, so even then, you’d understand the logic behind it all.
