| Box Office Buzz: ‘High School Musical 3’ Buzzes ‘Saw V’ Considering it broke records for fastest and biggest advance sales ever in movie history, it comes as no surprise that High School Musical 3 took the top slot at the box office this weekend.
Earning a whopping $42 million, the G-rated Disney sequel beat out Lions Gate’s horror sequel Saw V, which earned $30.5 million. Both films had a budget of around $11 million, making each of them winners for their respective studios in their first week in theaters. Coming in at #3 with $7.6 million was last week’s winner, Max Payne, the Mark Wahlberg big-screen adaptation of the popular video game. Holding strong at #5 was multi-week winner Beverly Hills Chihuahua, another Disney offering, with $6.9 million for a total of $78 million after four weeks.

| ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ International Teaser Trailer A new international trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is now online.
It’s possible this is a leaked trailer, since the ending has the film coming out “This Year.” Back in August, Warner Bros. announced that the sixth Harry Potter film would be moved from its original November 21, 2008 date to July 17, 2009 (which prompted a bunch of other movies this year to change their Fall dates, but that’s another story). So, hurry and watch the trailer here below in case it gets pulled. There’s plenty of new scenes, most of them are dark and foreboding, but there is a cute exchange between Harry and Hermione at the end to remind us that we’ll also have some lightheartedness in the film.

| Neil Gaiman On Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’ Movie |
Earlier this week, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said that the studio is looking to do a Doctor Strange movie, possibly including it in their 2012 or 2013 film slate.
When writer Neil Gaiman spoke to MTV earlier this month, he said that he and director Guillermo del Toro had talked about doing a film based on Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme, but with del Toro’s busy schedule (especially his making the two Hobbit films), he thought it would be several years before they could turn to it. The subject of a Doctor Strange movie came up again when Gaiman recently spoke with Premiere. I would love to write Dr. Strange. It would be absolutely one of my dream jobs [to write] a Dr. Strange movie. Last year I was out in Budapest for three weeks on the set of Hellboy II with Guillermo, and I mentioned to him that I’ve been, in very very early sort of “I would to do this” talks with Marvel about doing a Dr. Strange movie, and Guillermo’s reaction was, “Neil, I want to direct it!”

| Could the ‘Creepy Gnome’ Video Be ‘Halo’ Taking The ‘Cloverfield’ Route? |
Two videos have surfaced from Argentina in which people claim gnomes are now attacking them.
Right off the bat you just can’t help but think “What the hell is wrong with Argentina?” — but when you then watch these videos, you can see people hanging out, chatting, dancing and recording it all, like most people do. While recording, the man behind the camera sees an odd little creature in the background and begins focusing on it before people scream and the footage ends. Because both videos — which you can watch here below — are very Cloverfield and both end the moment someone screams, it’s quite obvious that it’s all a hoax. But on the other hand, I will happily confess that whatever those little things are, they creeped the hell out of me. They are extremely small and seem to walk on two legs and sideways like a crab instead of forward. They also have a little pointed head/hat that makes them very gnome-like.
