Scary Movie 5

Each and every one us has seen many sights that take up permanent residence in our minds, memories so horrible and traumatic we would do anything short of self-lobotomy to remove them forever. Walking in on your parents having sex, having to take your beloved ailing family pet to the veterinarian to have them put to sleep, getting bullied by your classmates in elementary school, the list goes on (and that is just my list).

Today I think we all have a new horrible memory to add to that list as the trailer for Scary Movie 5 has been released. You can watch the trailer here below, but if you decide not to no one here will think less of you.

The tagline said that Scary Movie 4 was the fourth and final film of the trilogy – that was not a typo, it’s literally on the poster – but we all know that it wasn’t going to end at number four. Although she was a fixture in all four of the Scary Movie films, Anna Faris won’t be returning to make jokes about pop culture and hit scary movies. Instead the people behind the movie are opting for a new face that could possibly take this film further. Coming Soon has word that High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale will be the star to lead Scary Movie 5.

Undercover Brother and Roll Bounce director Malcolm Lee will be helming Scary Movie 5, which is said to be a parody of Black Swan. Although I am not a fan of any of the films in the Scary Movie franchise, it did help launch Faris’ career, so maybe, just maybe, it can do the same for Tisdale’s post-High School Musical career.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year (HSM3-SR) can best be described as an excuse for dancing, singing campiness.

High school basketball superstar Try Bolton (Zac Efron) has to decide what he wants to do with his life when he graduates. His father wants him to follow his basketball talent, but Julliard comes to scout his drama talents. His girlfriend, Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) has been accepted to Stanford University in California. His girlfriend encourages him to join the school play. Also in the play is diva Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale), her choreographer brother Ryan Evans (Lucas Grabeel), basketball buddy Chad Daforth (Corbin Bleu), and talented composer Kelsi Nielsen (Oleysa Rulin). The quirky drama teacher Ms. Darbus (Alyson Reed) leads the group through their most important play.
