| DVD Preview: ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Prequel ‘Caprica’ |
A while back it was announced that we were still in for a new Battlestar Galactica prequel, called Caprica . Soon after that, we were made aware that Caprica was not a movie, but that it would be an entire season of the prequel show. We rejoiced.
Now I may be the only one who wasn’t aware of this, but we’re actually getting BOTH. On April 21, 2009, Caprica the movie prequel will be released on DVD, and then later on this summer, production on the TV series will begin! The only thing better than this would be news that they changed their mind about ending BSG. This format is brilliant, as we the fans will be able to catch the movie and shout our thoughts and opinions out on this glorious Internet, where the show’s producers will then be able to take everything into consideration before moving forward on the series. Now that we can take solace in the fact that we’ll be getting some Caprica and the other spin-off The Plan soon — allow us to share some information on the DVD along with some clips. Who doesn’t adore a good clip? Click over for full synopsis and videos!

| New ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ Images & Website! |

Things are getting real in the wold of Where the Wild Things Are… finally! We’re used to seeing lots of images and trailers and various other marketing items to get us excited for movies. But now, this fairy tale project that we once thought we may never get to see is drawing near, and with recent word of a trailer coming soon, a bunch of new images have been released by Warner Bros., along with the birth of a new website. The website is just the title so far, but I’m sure more will be added soon. This is the definitely the best set of images we’ve seen yet. There’s been some great looks from time-to-time, but here you get multiple great looks at the beasts and Max, and even Max at home with his mother (played by Catherine Keener). The images come courtesy of USA Today, who was also able to chat with director Spike Jonze, who had some great things to say about the movie. Click over for lots of quotes and better yet, some of the best images that you’ll see!

| ‘Star Trek’ TV Spot #3 + Screen Shots Paramount has released a third TV spot for their upcoming film Star Trek, which hits theaters May 8, 2009.
The 30-second spot, which is airing tonight in the United States, can be watched here below; there’s also download links for the HD versions, as well as some screen grabs from the TV spot of some scenes of interest. It’s a short, but sweet little bit, so definitely give it a look. A few items that popped out at me while watching this: There’s a new shot of the Romulan villain Nero (Eric Bana) saying the “it’s a day of reckoning” line from the previously released full-length trailer (see Third “˜Star Trek’ Trailer Now Online); we see a very quick clip of Kirk on the ice planet meeting up with the old Spock, played by Leonard Nimoy; Kirk and McCoy introducing themselves to each other (Kirk calling himself “Jim Kirk”), and more scenes from the space jump.

| DVD Review: ‘Futurama: Into The Wild Green Yonder’ |

Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder
DVD
Directed by Peter Avanzino
Starring Billy West, John Di Maggio, Katey Sagal, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, Maurice LaMarche
Fox Home Entertainment
Release Date: February 24, 2009
Futurama aired from 1999 to 2003, but it was canceled after its fifth season. Though it got off a few more seasons than Family Guy and Firefly, it’s definitely classified among the shows that Fox has canceled way too soon. As we know, Family Guy was brought back and soared to immense success, while sadly, Firefly remains buried and cold. Futurama kind of fell in the middle of these two. It wasn’t brought back to TV, but noticing the fan demand, it was decided that four direct-to-DVD movies would be made to see where the shows popularity stood. The first three to arrive were Futurama: Bender’s Big Score, Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs, and Futurama: Bender’s Game. Bender’s Big Score was loved by fans and did well, while the other two did decent, but weren’t quite as praised as the initial offering. Either way, fans were thrilled just to be getting some fresh content. The last movie to come along is our review today: Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder. It’s a little bittersweet this time, because after this movie, the future of Futurama is uncertain. There’s always the chance that this may just be the last we ever see of the gang.
