Sir Roger Moore, best known for playing James Bond, has passed away at the age of 89. The news was shared by Moore’s family, who says the actor passed away after a battle with cancer.

The actor is one of the handful to portray Bond since the film series began in 1962, joined by Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and the most recent, Daniel Craig. Moore played Bond seven times from 1973 to 1985 in Live and Let Die, The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, and A View to a Kill. Only Connery has appeared in the role as many times, and no one has played Bond more than that.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the James Bond film franchise, and with the long-delayed Skyfall (watch the first trailer) finally in production and set for worldwide release in November, MGM and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment are marking the golden occasion by releasing all 22 original Bond adventures, from Dr. No – the movie that started it all – to 2008’s Quantum of Solace, in one massive Blu-ray box set called Bond 50.

What would you say if asked whether you’d like to see Daniel Craig play James Bond in five more films? Which would bring his grand total to eight Bond movies following the release of his third turn in the iconic role, titled Skyfall.

One producer of the franchise, Michael G. Wilson, wants just that. In an interview recently, Wilson talked about Craig in the role, saying “Daniel’s been a terrific Bond, a superb actor, and a terrific man” before going on to why he wants to see him hit that eighth mark.

I have no idea how these folks managed to do this, but the people behind Norwegian television show Gylne Tider somehow gathered a whole group of celebrity icons from the Seventies through the Eighties and into the Nineties to sing/lip dub Let It Be by The Beatles. Not only that, but the video also features people, like Alfonso Ribeiro from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, who have been subjects of numerous internet memes over the years. This could also be the last official media appearance of the brilliant Leslie Nielsen who sadly passed away recently.
