Developers of Rock Band, Harmonix, released details of their previously announced Fab four premium bundle titled The Beatles: Rock Band which will retail for $249.99 when it makes its debut in September to Xbox 360, PS3, and the Wii.
The price might be high for Beatles fans under the age of 30 who have owned and played video games religiously since the days of 8-bit Mario, but there’s a whole generation of aging hipsters who never learned how to play an instrument. This generation of non-gamers, if they play anything else other than Rock Band and Guitar Hero, will likely be happy to fork over the $250 duckets.
The Limited Edition Premium Bundle includes:
- The Beatles: Rock Band software
- Höfner Bass controller: Large scale replica of the Bass famously used by Sir Paul McCartney
- Beatles-inspired and Ludwig-branded Rock Band 2 drums with classic pearl finish and vintage replica Beatles kick drum head
- Microphone
- Microphone Stand
- Additional special content [Our guess is its a voucher that brings a Ringo Star impersonator over to your house to bob his head whilst you butcher the songs that brought nations together.]
Additionally, anyone who pre-orders any version of the game will be eligible to join the The Beatles: Rock Band Pre-Order Club [sparklingly witty and originally named], which will give them access to breaking news and exclusive game elements like art and behind-the-scenes footage. Harmonix said they will start releasing the exclusive content in May — leading up leading up to the game’s official launch on September 9, 2009.

This will be the one that finally wins me over from the Guitar Hero camp to the Rock Band side. I am so stoked for this…and the Paul McCartney bass is a pretty sweet touch!
