Another New ‘Star Wars’ Movie Rumor That No One Will Believe
space
The Movie God   |  @   |

Star Wars

We all know the routine: every once in a great while, a rumor surfaces that a brand new Star Wars movie could be in the works. The first thought is that George Lucas has finally decided that he wants to do the mythical last trilogy that would show us what happened after the original saga. After that, there’s thoughts of movies that just take place in a different part of that world, but that’s what the live-action television series we’ve heard about is supposed to be doing. So…just for the fun of it all, if they were making a brand new Star Wars movie, what could they be doing and what would YOU want them to do?

Now, I have no idea how this was even discovered, but Ain’t it Cool News went on an archaeological excavation and found a very brief, random bit encased within a blog written by Thomas Dolby, the man who co-wrote the Howard the Duck theme song.

Continue reading to see what he said.

My host is friend and former collaborator Paul Sebastien, who over the years has worked for Xbox, Playstation, and now LucasArts. Last night he was telling me a little about the forthcoming Star Wars-related TV show, movie and online games””very cool indeed.

If this has an semblance of truth, I have to honestly assume that it’s probably some kind of animated film like The Clone Wars was…perhaps even a sequel to it. One thing is for sure, it has seemed like a constant guarantee that we’re not getting any more real movies that are on par with the originals or even the prequels.

  1. Hoping for the first in the final three trilogy – will probably end up with “Jar Jar’s World.”

  2. At this point I say leave it alone, esp if Lucas decides he needs to direct.
I’ve always thought that he should hand the reins over to a young wunderkind director to re-imagine the mythos. On a side note do a search for Patton Oswalts bit on the new Star Wars films called “I want to kill George Lucas with a shovel”, funny stuff.

  3. If there is ever to be another Star Wars movie that is not just a cartoon, then the complete removal of George Lucas from the project would be my requirement for viewing. Fans could start a fund to hire mercenaries to disappear him while the movie was being made.

  4. Jecen, Jaina and Anakin.
I would actually be enthused by a movie[s] with them.
    Something for us ‘grown-ups’, PLEASE.

  6. I’d love to see some movies made around one of the Expanded Universe storylines, like Tim Zahn’s Thrawn series or one of the Dark Horse comics. But please, no George Lucas. If he has to be involved, give him like a cameo…
