All this talk of Edward Norton not being in The Avengers movie has really got me down. It’s time for a little pick me up.
And now I have one! Today Marvel has released an image of Odin (Anthony Hopkins), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) standing together in the halls of Asgard from the upcoming Thor movie.
Anthony Hopkins looks pretty bad ass as Odin, even with the gold eyepatch. Loki looks like a total weasel, as he should. This is the first image we’re seeing of both of them; a partial shot of Hemsworth in Thor costume was released back in April, but this is the first full body image.
I was pretty skeptical in the beginning about a Thor movie, thinking it the most difficult of all the Avengers to pull off, but as more images are released I’m beginning to get excited about it. Who knows what awesomeness will be shown for it at next week’s Comic-Con? (Geeks of Doom will be there to report on it!) Hopefully some Captain America stuff to really get us excited for both movies, and eventually The Avengers. Now, if only we can fix that whole Ed Norton thing, sigh.
Thor is set to be released May 6, 2011.
Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the epic adventure “Thor” spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Badass? More like hilariously camp. I can’t stop laughing at the costumes.
Fail.

I don’t agree, I’m hopefully optimistic.
