Watch Now: Soundgarden Performs Live On ‘Conan’
space
Empress Eve   |  @   |

Chris Cornell - SoundgardenGrunge rock superstars Soundgarden performed live last night on Conan.

Watch the video here below of their live performance of “Black Rain,” a single from their new album, Telephantasm, which was released in September. Also embedded below is a web-only video of them playing another song, “Hunted Down,” which did not air during the Conan broadcast.

On January 1, 2010, the band announced their plans to reunite after a 12-year break. The current line-up of Soundgarden is Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, and Ben Shepherd.

As I’ve mentioned before, I love Soundgarden and have seen them live many times, and for over the course of a decade had abandoned all hope of the band uniting, so this is a major thrill for me. The band looks great and sounds better than ever — seriously, there were some shows in the mid-1990s that weren’t so entertaining. The members seem to be in top form now. Bring on the tour!

  1. OMG! They sound like Soundgarden from the fucking ’90s! I’m freakin’ amazed.

  2. They sounded so good. I almost felt like I was 16 again.

  3. Hunted Down isn’t a new song. They only released one new song on this cashgrab. Er…I mean album.

    Damn, didn’t mean to put new, it’s fixed now, thanks. I’m guessing this compilation album is to bring awareness to new potential fans who were probably too young to remember then band when they broke up 13 years ago.

    I’m not one for the ‘compilation’ album either, but the 2-CD/1-DVD version is only $10 at Amazon and there’s rare/live songs on it. So, not bad overall.

    @dave3

    Yeah!!! Get ready, we’re totally going to see them when they come around on tour.
