Maybe the only thing better than San Diego Comic-Con is the annual tradition of Conan O’Brien doing his show from San Diego with big time guests and surprises. Yesterday marked the beginning of the 4-day geekfest, and Conan was on his way south with co-host Andy Richter driving. Then came the music dispute. Andy only had a tape with one song, “Sexy and I Know It” by LMFAO. Andy wanted his song repeatedly for the 2+ hour drive, Conan was ready to toss the tape. Andy tossed Conan.
Check out where he ended up before SDCC 2017 below.
Luckily for the late night host, there was a WWI fighter plane just casually sitting by the side of the highway. One guess at what played on the plane’s radio… poor Conan. After hitting a patch of clouds, he crashed onto the magical realm of the Amazonians, Themyscira, where Diana aka Wonder Woman lives. Conan, never one to shy away from a self deprecating joke, is ruthlessly mocked by the native ladies who call him a “Jelly” rather than a man. They were expecting someone more Idris Elba-y. Conan is forced to make confessions under the influence of the Lasso of Truth, and then shows his manhood with hilarious results.
Despite the bad luck with the women of Themyscira, Conan eventually made it back into Andy’s car and away to SDCC he went. Conan welcomed stars from Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi film Bright, including Will Smith and Noomi Rapace, as well as the cast of CW’s Supernatural on Wednesday night. Tonight, he has the stars of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and will have huge shows featuring stars of Lego Batman and Game of Thrones this weekend. Conan is on TBS nightly at 11:00pm EST.
