Sean Bean scored a lifelong geek following with his role as Boromir in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, which excitedly followed him in bringing his fantasy skills to the excellent HBO series, Game of Thrones.
Diehard fans of the book from which the first season was based””part of George R.R. Martin‘s A Song of Ice and Fire series””and newcomers alike have praised Bean for his work bringing Lord Eddard Stark to life, and it’s likely that anytime he finds himself in some sort of sword-wielding role (you can also check out Black Death on Netflix) we geeks will watch with happy eyes.
Now Bean is carrying over his battle-tested warrior ways into real life.
While at a bar in London with model April Summers, the two went outside for a cigarette when a passerby made an lewd comment toward Summers, who’s appeared in the Italian edition of Playboy and other magazines. Bean followed the man, supposedly challenging him in an attempt to stand up for his lady-friend, but the man continued on.
Later that evening, however, while out to have another smoke, Bean was attacked unexpectedly, suffering a bruise on his eye after being punched in the face and a cut on his arm after being “stabbed” by what’s said to be a piece of glass.
Instead of going to the hospital to make sure everything was all right internally or to see if maybe he needed stitches, Bean simply returned to the bar, patched things up using a first aid kit, and ordered another drink.
It’s unclear whether it was the man who Bean challenged earlier was the one who sprung the attack or if that man told a bigger, stronger friend to go avenge his shattered masculine pride.
It’s a lame person who hangs around after affronting someone’s character and attacking them with a weapon. Britain now unfortunately has a culture of people who think they can go around acting like pricks and have nothing done back to them as if it is them who’s been affronted. More people need to stand up to these characterless charmless tossers. They really boil my piss.
‘What news from the North, O mighty wind, do you bring to me today? What news of Boromir the Bold? For he is long away.”Beneath Amon Hen I heard his cry. There many foes he fought.

As long as Mirri Maz Duur doesn’t tend to his wounds, I think he’ll be ok.

Some people surely haven’t seen that episode yet. Total Geek Code foul.
Please try and keep the comments spoiler-free unless of course it’s a “Spoiler Talk” discussion.
Thanks ;)
