Who better to do a film about male strippers than Stephen Soderbergh, right?
That’s exactly what the director plans on working on in the coming future, and with the cast growing at an ever speedy rate, the Soderbergh’s low budget Magic Mike appears to be one of the hotter projects going around Hollywood.
The Playlist has revealed that actress Cody Horn has been tapped for the film’s female lead, and will play opposite the likes of Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, and Riley Keough.
The film is written by Reid Carolin, and will follow the story of an “experienced stripper (Tatum) who teaches a younger dancer (Pettyfer) how to hustle his wares on stage and off at the exotic club Xquisite, run by Dallas (McConaughey). Horn will play Pettyfer’s sister in the film who has a romance with Tatum’s character.”
Personally, I absolutely love this cast, and with Soderbergh behind the camera, this is definitely going to be a project to keep the keenest of eye on. Shooting in September, the film is one of many on Soderbergh’s plate, and while it doesn’t quite catch the eye as much as something like Haywire, it does sound really intriguing.
What do you think?
