There are some directors in the world that, whenever a new project is announced, one is automatically excited. Almodovar. Scorsese. These are just a few of the names that fit that bill. However, some directors stain any project once their name is attached, making it an uphill battle for that said piece.
McG fits that specific description.
And now he’s found a brand new film. THR is reporting that the horribly-monikered filmmaker will direct Puzzle Palace, based on a script from hot writer, David Guggenheim.
Now, while I’m only slightly joking about my disdain for anything and everything McG, this project does sound intriguing. The film will follow a lawyer who must break into a police station to find evidence that could free his recently imprisoned father, which is a premise right up both Guggenheim and McG’s alley. I do think that there is some talent in the director’s bones, so if there is any film that is going to get that talent pulled out, it’s this sucker.
What do you think?
