Each month Amazon offers 100 album downloads for $5 each at their MP3 store. Among the more notable titles released this month is the original music score for the Marvel Studios summer superhero spectacular Thor.

Composed by veteran movie music man Patrick Doyle, the Thor soundtrack is an exciting and suitably bombastic score, which is very fitting given that the movie it accompanies is an epic tale of a universe-spanning conflict between warrior gods that has its roots in both Norse mythology and 1960’s comic book storytelling. The lackluster box office grosses (not a flop, but not a good omen either) for the 2006 sequel Mission: Impossible III had the studio suits at Paramount questioning the future of the once-viable tentpole action franchise, but after more than five years the blockbuster movie series is back with Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.
