Got an iPad or a web browser? Of course you do! Well then, there’s great news for you, readers. The awesome fantasy-driven comic Skullkickers is currently having a 99 cent sale on the comiXology digital comics platform.
Now, I’ve been talking a lot about Skullkickers by Jim Zubkavitch, Edwin Huang, and Misty Coats on this site before, and as you can clearly tell, I absolutely love the series.
It’s incredibly hilarious down to the smallest details of lettering. The colors pop, the pencils are fantastic, and the writing is superb. It’s not Local or Asterios Polyp in its level of seriousness, mind you. In fact, it’s hardly serious, at all. It’s a fun, silly, and cartoony violent comic that pleases me every time I read it. I think that pretty much anyone and everyone could pick up this comic and love it. Anybody that loves a good time can appreciate what’s going on in these books, but especially people that are in to fantasy gaming or heavy metal. It’s absolutely perfect for you if you have a sense of humor.
You can pick up the trade paperbacks for a rather inexpensive price, but if for some reason you are hesitant about spending $10-$20 on an awesome book, you should definitely check out this sale. Unfortunately the sale only lasts until November 23, 2011, but that’s still plenty of time to pick up all of the issues for a super low price. The sale includes issues #1-11, but comiXology also has the #0 issue for absolutely FREE, as well as a collected digital edition of volume two for $16.99. But seriously, you can get this entire series for $11. Come on, I mean, really. Go here now!
If you’re going to take a chance on a comic, make it this one.
